I guess that would be even worse with cleats on as well. I’ll nudge the seat as I go. See what happens.
I need a lot of things in my life @fruit_thief!

I’m with @Symes and suggest you wear you cycling shoes. As a starter I put the heel of the cycling shoe in the pedal. Assess how much bend there is in the knee and adjust the height from there.
I think I’d agree with this. And as you’re wearing flat shoes and not cleats, which I presume would add another 10mm, I’d probably raise the saddle more before dropping the bars.
You aint getting more than that with one video . We need more effort, front/side shots, twat hat, skin suit and shoes.
However, a fair few think the saddle is on the low side so at least that’s one piece of constructive feedback.
It’s all constructive, i’m just teasing.
This is what’s great about this site, as i would never have picked up on that at all. I can get a good feel for how i’m doing from a frontal perspective, but don’t know anything about saddle height, position etc.
Though next time i’ll have to carefully plan my location for the video, make sure my bike is clean, kit is fit properly etc. Will have to wait for a day with none of the family abuot lest they think i’m even more of a weirdo than they already do!! haha.
I’ve read all the stuff on knee angles, this percentage of inside leg, that percentage of femur, online fit calculators etc etc but always come back to this as my go to method. Dead straight or the slightest of bends in the knee when your heel is on the pedal seems to work out right every time.
Also try pedaling backwards and see if your hips rock as that’s a good sign if you’ve gone too high.
OK. After the feedback last week I’ve dropped the bars and raised the saddle.
You should see a side and front video on the following link. Rip it apart please lions.
Yes I know that top makes me look like I have a cracking set of boobs, it’s not an aero top! And yes I’m wearing 12 year old (my first ever pair) Orca tri shorts. I couldn’t be bothered to change into neat bibs, as I’ve just finished a zwift session.
That looks pretty decent to be fair. Back is pretty flat, the back of the helmet is tucking in to line up with the back. Your feet are heel up for the whole stroke though, they should be flatter.
From the front you seem nicely tucked in. You have quite broad shoulders which there isnt much you can do about other than try to rotate them forward but that could get uncomfortable.
The important question though is, how long can you hold that position for?
Yeah, nice rack.
I’d say you look good there, don’t fettle anymore see how that feels on the road.
That front brake cable is horrific though, guess there’s not really much to be done about that
ETA - I’ve been meaning to post a pic since I’ve changed my stem - will have a go tomorrow eve
I can’t see much wrong with that, the key is how long you can stay there so I would say ride it on the turbo and outside and see how it goes.
Ps. If you keep your head in that position you could try a longer tail helmet that blends into your back more but if you’re going to start dropping your head you’re better off with what you have
Rode it for an hour on the turbo just now, and it doesn’t feel too extreme at all. It’s no less comfortable than my old position I don’t think, so should be OK. But I’ll get out once the brakes are fixed and test it.
Shoulders are sore at the start, but they settle in. But that’s been happening for a while and I’m seeing the physio on Tues to get all of the things unlocked. My body is like a bag of rocks at the moment. Shoulders, lower back and calves expecially. Hope she can work her magic and not tell me off too much!
Cheers for the input.
Not sure about the foot thing. What do I need to do, hold my heel a little more down? I may well do that ready as this was just 10 secs for the vid. But I’ll try to keep an eye on that.
Ta.
Thanks, but there’s no way I’m buying anything else now! So that helmet will have to do!
=
Edit - may look for a 2nd hand saddle though. That’s the one thing I hate about this bike. Might chuck my fizik from the Canyon on as a backup.
I guess if you are comfortable and putting out the power it doesnt matter. When I had my bike fit It was pointed out my heal was lifting but I cant remember what if anything was done.
Agree with the others it looks good.
How much sewing gets done in your house?
I think there’s a difference between lifting your heel at the bottom of the pedal stroke which might indicate your seat is too high and over stretching or just holding your foot at an angle that comes naturally to you through the whole rotation.
To me it looks completely normal, neither over reaching or dropping your heel at the bottom because seat is too low. I remember reading something by Slowman on ST (I think) where he said the body naturally tries to find the correct knee angle be flexing the ankle to achieve it so if it’s staying the same all the way round you’re probably not far off
Took me ages to work that one out!
Kids use it as a picnic table.
Sorry, I had nothing sensible to add
I rarely do…
Sagan managed OK with a pointy toe style.
Got a fabric Tri saddle if of interest.
