End of WiggleCRC?

Are they, though?
I don’t use any of 'em - guessing you mean Shein, Temu, Alibaba etc.

I do need to find another place to buy the good Snappies doggie doo bags from, though

yeh - Temu, Alibaba, eBay, Etsy - loads of tat alleys out there so Amazon are no different really beyond range, price and delivery. And if you search around (there are online tools for this) you can go elsewhere for the same at often better prices than Amazon.

Poo bags?? Buy the best price biodegradeable ones with tie handles in bulk - brand isn’t key. I think in 3+ years of having our mutt we’ve only ordered 2 lots.

Hate to say it - Im finding Amazon CS rather spot on at the moment. Returns are refunded the moment you hand your parcel in (could be anything in the box - I assume they either don’t care or worry about it later).
I had 1 parcel sent to a collection point recently - once I’d got past the bots, got a full refund when I complained. Only 1 mile to pick it up too.

Temu and the like just seem to take an age to arrive in comparison.

Just seen the news that Scott has asked for a $160m loan to cover cash flow issues

Does the cycling industry need a big clear out? are there too many competitors selling near identical products to a market, which at the moment, simply doesn want

Scott do a lot more than cycling, or is that just the cycling division?

It sounds like an issue of excess stock. If the rest of the industry is the same then there’s going to have to be some heavy discounting to reduce stock levels :man_shrugging:

The bike industry doesn’t help itself by bringing out new models every year. People kind of expect that last year’s stock will be discounted at the end of the year and hold out for bargains.

No one wants to pay full price for last year’s bike

Some of the usual companies are starting to offer decent discounts on parts again, doesn’t seem like that long ago they were like golddust, I had to wait for the Enigma due to lack of Shimano parts.

Wonder if chucking massive amounts of bikes on the market at big discounts will cause manufacturers more long term price and profit pain than just binning stuff and writing it off.

A company I am aware of once landfilled 25000 appliances rather than discount them and dilute the brand.

It’s definitely possible.

They could do what Atari did with the ET cartridges and dig them back up in a few years time as a collectible

A senior supply chain lead I knew, who worked for a steel company (identity withheld) told me that the factory managers were got bonuses on output. One of their huge works had some wonderful target (can’t remember if it was 100,000 tonnes or 1,000,000 tonnes). Anyway the new head of operations promised to get that output, and finally achieved this ambition…. In 2009 at the same time as a slump in demand. In order to avoid bankruptcy the company dumped a massive amount of steel on the market and crashed the global price of steel. My friend told me that it would have been better to dump the steel in the sea.

Seeing a 70% off ‘clearance’ advert for CRC on FB today.

Burberry, Vuitton etc. all burn unsold goods at the end of the year rather than discount. Apparently it could be as much as 30% is destroyed.

I am aware of this and it is, in my view, a criminal waste of the world’s natural resources.

The hypocrisy that these brands make claims for their sustainable responsibility, while manufacturing and destroying good stock is sickening.

“ your items are on there way!”
If the lid and tabs arrive I’ll probably get some more stuff, super cheap deals but if they go bust you will lose your dough.

I should use a credit card but don’t have one.,

They’ve already “gone bust” - if you look at the small print on the website they’re trading as “Wiggle Ltd (in administration) “

If you buy stuff from them now you should be fine. You’re in a better position buying from them now that you would have been immediately before they went into administration :man_shrugging:

And yet an email this morning saying popular items are “back in stock”. Surprised suppliers are still supplying, pretty sure they won’t be paying for stock upfront.

Wahoo and Assos have stopped supplying them.

I think the others are being paid upfront
