Had a look through the doc on companies house, business looks salvageable to me.

Just hope it’s not the sports direct wanker.

I looked last night as that’s usually where I get my big boxes of SIS gels from and they were out of stock od tons of stuff. Had a quick look at the Hoka range as well and that was very thin on the ground.

I would have thought that suppliers would be reluctant to give them more stock without payment upfront until the business is sold :man_shrugging:

Wasn’t it the parent company withdrawing funding that put them into administration?

I would guess that a business like that has a lot of money tied up in stock, so it should be able to make a profit, but cash management is probably an issue :man_shrugging:

Agree, but I would imagine that a lot of the due amounts were not actually overdue, they most likely get 60-90 day terms with suppliers.

Also stock levels still seem pretty high on the website.

They could be working on cash, or possibly consignment terms to keep the stock incoming however.

Yes.

Smaller companies like Hoka probably don’t have the resources to consign stock to them, or have chosen to not take the risk.

The suppliers must think that they’re going to get their money or they’d be claiming reservation of title and going round to collect their stock.

The “Haribo” article above suggests that most of the creditors are only owed a month or so’s invoicing

Also the owed amounts won’t take into account rebates and other pfp incentives, that could knock 20% off for some of the big boys.

I doubt the cleaners or taxi companies pay much rebate though.

Not so small as you may think - owned by Deckers since 2013 (who also own Ugg and Teva)

I think it was the parent company’s parent company wasn’t it? SSD and SSU?

Mountain bike rather than road bike news, but it looks like Orange Bikes are on the edge.

Shame I have had three of their bikes over the years.

They have not really moved with the times though.
