Garmin questions

All my workouts came up on their own over the course of the morning but couldn’t get GC to finish a sync with my watch until now.
Kept the phone screen awake by scrolling up and down slightly and the progress wheel made it all the way round.
Got this afterwards but most stuff looks OK.

That’s the question as to what extra you want from the tech?
I’m still happy with my trusty 910xt. For some reason the battery still lasts well over 10 hours, and I’ve not had any problems with it.
If and when it dies I’d probably chance a second hand 920, but so many reports of newer watches dying early makes me think I’ve just been lucky. All I’d want extra from my 910 would be style.

Look no further…

Garmin made the BBC News website - https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/technology-53553576

When I’ve saved my last 2 activities, the saving keeps spinning. Started after I was using it and it ran out of battery. Although not sure if it’s related to garmin connect.

Edit, fixed it by deleting the activity it tried to save when it ran out of battery.

Answered above by @AndyM post but can’t get course to sync from connect to Felix 5+

Any work arounds?

Can you sync it via cable?

Thanks. Computer at work so unfortunately not.

Had a kid free afternoon so was going to try a new route with no time pressure but will stick to known roads so not the end of the world.

I’m in a similar position, but just being lazy with finding the wire! :joy:

Got a mate to commit to the nav instead

Funny you should say that! Mate I was riding with did the nav. 95k of glorious Hampshire roads/hills followed by couple beers and a curry.

Good base miles but really great for mental health after a tough few weeks.

Garmin Connect has updated for the missing activities, but it still doesn’t seem to have backfilled the “activity tracker” type info. I wonder if that’s ever going to be uploaded. I don’t know how long a watch holds that info.

I can’t seem to sync routes to my Garmin Edge 530. Wondering if I’ve just got it set up wrong.

I’ve tried doing the send to device from my phone app whilst it’s connected and I’ve tried doing it from a PC when it’s plugged in. Then I look in navigation>routes on the device and nothing.

Can’t seem to install a new data field or update any of the apps either.

I have same issue on Edge and Forerunner since the outage. If you have the Garmin connected to PC, the old fashioned way of dropping a gpx file into NewFiles folder on the device is still working for me.

I’m glad to hear that it’s possibly not just me and related to Garmin outage. Hopefully with right itself soon enough.

My activity tracker info started trickling through yesterday and is now up to date, hopefully yours will catchup soon.

Yeah snap. No joy on the app, but manually moving my file into the folder on my edge, via a wire, seemed to work.

The Russians have it all.

I said it 6 days ago. Call me Mystic Meg! :joy:

There’s no clarity yet but industry rumours are that no data was taken. It’s a targeted blackmail operation, professional enough not to bite the hand after it feeds them. Likely organised crime based in Russia, which means implicit or explicit state backing.

Reports are they paid up. Which is illegal as Evil Corp have been sanctioned by the Treasury.

Perhaps they got a 3rd party to negotiate on their behalf.
