Garmin questions

Dodgy connection on the back, it turns on/off :sob:
I’ve got to place it a certain way to charge :woman_shrugging:t4:

(Probably could send back under warranty, but CBA!)

I’m out supporting Sean again tomorrow & couldn’t find my Wahoo Bolt.

Finally found it nice & clean in the back pocket of my jersey on the airer :grimacing:.

Turned on OK & has 70% charge.

:crossed_fingers:for tomorrow.

So… end of my outdoor run this morning.

Press the end button to finish the exercise. Before the list of further options (resume / save / etc) the FR955 shits itself into a reset.

After syncing, activity carries through to Garmin Connect and Strava but not the watch.

Logged via Garmin, but does anyone have any ideas?

I think you can sync activities to a device from Garmin Connect, but I dont know how. Does it matter, if it’s already in Connect?

Memory isn’t full is it? Although generally these days they auto-purge but I’m sure in the past I had to delete some manually, but it could have been my cycling Garmin

Fair point, both.

Certainly not had any notifications that memory is full, but see what they say.

Installed the IQ running power app, use a dual HRM.

What am I doing wrong?

Dual isnt a running dynamics strap is it?

Mine’s the HRM-Pro and it does it, think the 965 might as well.

Uh, think the thing just said Garmin HRM

What watch do you have? X55 series up has it inbuilt natively I think, but anything prior needs a running dynamics pod/strap from what I understood

I had power enabled with my 945 and HRM Tri strap.

Fenix 6S Pro

In which case I believe you need a device capable of reporting running dynamics to your watch.

After over 17 years of faithful service, my Garmin 305 has finally given up the ghost.
(2 main units, 2 chest units, countless straps, in fact, only the chest elastic is original.)

Thankfully, I’d picked up @joex’s non-subliminal sales pitches within this thread.

And given I only need basic time, distance & HR information, I bought one. :sunglasses:

But it really makes you appreciate just how HUGE the 305 is!

Cheers, Paul.

Don’t get rid of the chest strap if it still works, the old solid ones are the most robust by miles. I’ve still got my original one from my 305 and use it instead of the new ones, saving them for races/swimming etc.

@JaRok2300 - Thanks, that is worth knowing.

I’ll try the 305 strap with the 55, but it didn’t ‘talk’ to my exercise bike.

Whereas, I tried the new ANT+ strap on the bike last night and that worked. :sunglasses:

Unfortunately, I couldn’t get out of bed this morning for my planned run.

So, the 55 test run will have to wait another day.

Cheers, Paul.

Did you swim with that under your swim cap in a zip lock bag?:rofl:

I found my old Forerunner 310 in a drawer the other day. It looks huge, but it was much smaller than the 305

Worth trying a new battery in the strap if you haven’t already, and maybe give the contacts a little scrub, I’ve done that a few times when I thought it was dead.

I’ve got a 920 and 945 kicking around now :joy: although I’m going to put the 945 on eBay or something soon, when I get myself organised
