Garmin questions

Correct. Its touchscreen also.

Other than that 265 has 8GB music storage, 255 has 4GB on the music version. 265 has Training Readiness score.

Think you pay about an extra £130 for one. Hard to beat the 255 on value.

I have the 735, thought it was dying and l came to the following priorities for replacement if I need to (also have a Garmin bike computer)

Garmin 55 £120 - MIPS for just running, lacks multisport, OWS and power meter connections.

Garmin 165 £170 - amoled and has OWS, lacks power meter and training load integration and multisport mode

Garmin 255 ~£200: MIPS screen

Garmin 265 ~ £360: AMOLED, Spotify, NFC

Coros Pace 3 or 4. £200/230 - difference 4 has amoled and music but MP3 not Spotify. Both great batteries (if 4 is off when not looking at it)

If you - or a friend - are a member of Brit Tri you can get the 265 for £295, down from £370. They don’t seem to have the 255 on offer.

255 are pretty scarce and 255 music pretty much non existent.

255 does seem the better value, not sure the budget will stretch to 265. That Brit Tri would make it much more attainable tho. Alas not a member … nor do I have any friends

Dont want to move away from Garmin. So think its between 255 and 265.
570 way over budget. Did re-check HM Samuels deal on the Epic I got but again a bit pricey.

Not sure if it’s just a code from Brit Tri or need to order via the portal. Although in theory mine ends at the weekend but I need to renew for my European races

If you don’t get sorted remind me tomorrow and I’ll see if it’s just a code.

MTB Forum Singletrack world membership gets you a pretty heft Garmin discount and I think its only £10 or something for the year

Turns out my skin isn’t a fan of silicone watch bands

Too tight? I tighten mine up for training sessions but then loosen it off again afterwards

That’s weird - the dry skin patch in particular - never happened before?

I had that with an Apple Watch strap. I thought it might have been the metal in the strap perhaps? Changed the strap and it’s been ok since. Someone at work gets similar with their whoop strap, it’s not a silicone one afaik though.

I think it’s pretty common… lots of reports on line about Garmin straps and irritation.

I went through multiple nylon replacements trying to find one small enough for my feminine wrists, but so much better on every level.

The amount of sweat that pours out of me has probably broken the chemical bonds of the silicone

I’ve put the fabric strap back on and got the watch on my right wrist until this heals.

It’s actually “burning” :face_with_diagonal_mouth:

Gold is meant to be hypoallergenic. Maybe get the Mr T spec watch strap?
