Garmin questions

Seems expensive for a Garmin watch without the watch.

Though I do see why you’d want one if you like wearing posh watches and don’t want to be a 2-watch-w:anchor:

I don’t know how the functionality compares, but it’s about the same price as a Whoop and you don’t have to pay a subscription to see your data :man_shrugging:

What would be clever is if the new device could be used at the same time as a watch or bike computer and the Garmin app knew not to double record activities in your training records.

I’m seeing more and more Whoop files appearing in my Strava feed alongside the same activity recorded on a watch

I don’t like wearing a watch in bed - because it’s lumpy & I’m not weird :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes: - & I don’t wear my Garmin at work because it would get ruined with scratches so a CIRQA looks like a good option for me if I want a few more numbers to crunch.

Watching.

It doesn’t double record.

It’s a shame they’ve not had review samples out for a bit longer but they’ll be here soon and I can’t imagine it’ll sell out.

This video answers a lot of questions

This is good info.

I’m tempted as I have 2 Vivomove watches I don’t often wear because they don’t have all the metrics. But if I had a Cirqa then I could wear the Vivomoves again which would great!

I don’t get how it can described as discreet.

Maybe if you dressed it up like your kid has made a bangle bracelet thingy

You could wear it around your upper arm and unless you were wearing a vest, noone would know

I don’t think I’ve used my Enduro2 on a saved course since back in May. Everything worked as per my normal set up back then.

Maps on in the background and my main data screen (Distance/Time). Vibration turn alerts on the watch and nothing coming out of my phone. had tge same set up for years.

Today, I had the watch on ‘Hike’, started a pre-saved route and for the first time ever, my phone started announcing audio turn by turn instructions. It’s never done that before and I have not changed anything. I really dislike it.

Seems to be a massive issue on the forums, because if you turn off Nav Alerts in the app, it turns off the vibration alert as well, which is not what I want.

Anyone experience this?

It’s annoying, I get it but I either turn the phone volume down and can’t remember if I exit Garmin connect that might stop it.

I had that on my Enduro 3
In my Ultra mode I have bluetooth turned off to save battery so don’t get it there, but did in Hike mode.

I turned it ff but can’t remember what setting I changed - will get back to you, but turning off bluetooth could be a temporary fix

Cheers Doug. I’ll do a test in Ultra mode and see if it does the same thing.

On the Enduro 3 it was a setting under Focus Modes->Activity, don’t know if the same applies to the Enduro 2

Cheers Doug, I don’t have the Focus Modes on the E2, but I did find Audio Output and connected devices is set to ‘Off’.

I’ll have a play around tomorrow. :+1:t2:

Whenever abroad my fenix 8 won’t download my runs via my phone/bluetooth. I always have to plug it into my laptop when I get home . Anyone else had this issue ? Any tips ?

Does it appear as a device on Garmin connect on your phone? And say connected?

Yes - and it seems with a decent internet connection it has now updated . Took about an hour - but got there eventually .

I do have one, couple of weeks in.

I like it, and think it’s priced correctly. For everyday wear, it’s the same as wearing my Forerunner with the exception of a) it’s less distracting and b) easier to sleep with.

For training I still use my forerunner, so can’t comment on that.
