I don’t even know what a wall ball is, but I’m going to find out ![]()
Big ball, big wall! Throw ball at wall and repeat!
Looks brutal mind!
The hardest thing I’ve ever done
The end
But it’s only 9-10 mins and I’m crap at them.
Not for all of us
As someone who got on a HYROX podium this year I couldn’t GAF about pictures for all my adoring fans
It is ..
It’s horrible, but I’m crap at them cost me a podium Manchester 24 and a top 5 at Bham
I have tried everything .. it’s like some people who would like to do tri .. but just can’t swim I guess it’s good it’s last.. have a go.. you come across as One of the more sensible people on here be interested in your views ?
Is it really just me ?
oof, just had a look. Yeah, not for me ![]()
not sure the back will thank you after
or the shoulders, arms and legs ![]()
Yeah, let’s go with ‘it’s my back’ that’s stopping me from a podium ![]()
A local cyclist asked for advice on hyrox this time last year a “ good “ if not spectacular runner
He did 100 ms ( 20 ms too many ! lol ) burpee broad jumps unbroken in about 4 mins ( this is fast !) as a single one off station .. As far as I know his hyrox career ended there.
Someone like spooner would be good at this race it’s as much mental as physical but that’s probably true for most sports.
But that is running outside vs running + slow stationary exercises in a convention centre
Re London wall ball gate. It was due to lack of judges. Few people want to take that station, its mentally exhausting and you have a much higher chance of a competitor moaning at you
There should be a box ( sized to every athlete on all wall ball stations ) bum hits box it’s low enough I saw a video of a young girl who was getting no repped constantly at a foreign event she was way way below parallel and other videos of people flexing there knees and getting away with it
The new electric targets worked perfectly twice in all fairness.
If you can “ skim “ them all the better.
Friend of a friend going for the world record 45-50 ( on debut ) at Manchester this week ?!
That is some statement, looking at his running it’s possible but unlikely.
Someone I follow on Strava who I think goes to our gym did 1:29 at Manchester today, no idea if that’s any good, his upload says he covered 8K ![]()
Depends on age and if it was open or pro weights?
Lots of timing errors so far paticulary on lap 7?!
Ques for equipment they are taking to many entries to increase profit and pudding people off .. think Ironman !
It’s a good time, just been talking to young Tom Oxley who is currently leading Manchester ( overall ) 57:58? IIRC? 1100 people raced so far but 25k? Racing total event win the overall with that I don’t think ? But should get a flag on his age group
Lovely fella, crazy 10 k time for someone with Garth arms puts the work in, he raced yesterday and was smashing the weights in the gym this evening.
Oh to be young again !
I’d be surprised if he’s doing pro weights, looks like he’s in the ballpark of 20 minutes for a 5K on a dreadmill but tails off as it gets longer. His photos would suggest 30 give or take.
Pro weights are brutal
Anyone doubting how hard this sport is get a 9 kg wall ball and do a 100 reps ( you will be there for a long long time ask Joe skipper )
Those top 30 year olds are running 3:45 kms now sometimes faster consistency and not having a “ nightmare “ station is key
Good genes?

Honestly .. I don’t know
It’s possible I guess ex body builder ? but the obvious answer is usually the right one.
Trt is so common in parts of America it’s normal, strange how all these pumped up weightlifters running at 15 kph need it too..?!
I have literally seen a discussion on a hyrox site were people are encouraging racing on it.
There is zero testing.
Pfft, only£2k! Kona would like a word.
