Ideas for the future of Ironman

One year I was on my way to Dartmoor in a Day and that slip road from the Glastonbury Rd to the M5 was closed, so I had to go through through the middle of B/water at 3.30am.

What a shit show, how I didn’t run someone over I’ll never know! There were groups of drunk people all over the place. Would be interesting to see that lot meet the early morning wetsuited crowd.

An hour to go!

Tick followed tock :joy:

I’m actually unlikely to do it although if it is Leeds the lure will be strong but it’s close to ADH which I’ve got my eye on.

They have a history of exciting races, could the run be on the old Tough Guy course to add something different

@Cobbie @Daz @ukironman would all be out in force for an old skool TT reunion for that

and payment in postage stamps for the sheer hell of it!!

Did anyone work out what Mr Mouse did with all the stamps??

I’ve done a couple of Sportives from there, both were really good once out of the built up area. One or both took in Ironbridge Gorge and Wenlock Edge, lovely countryside and some grippy hills as well flat fast sections.

Confirmed, Leeds 27th July!

After many whispers around transition zones up and down the country and speculation across the tri-verse, we can finally pull back the curtain: The new home of IRONMAN in England is… LEEDS!

We’re going the furthest north we’ve ever been before in England, landing in a city that lives and breathes sport and where triathlon culture is part of the DNA. Welcome to the all-new IRONMAN Leeds on 27 July 2025. Iconic City meets an iconic race.

Right, is doing IM Leeds 3 weeks before Copenhagen a daft thing to do?

That’s not good for the outlaw although it’ll be quite a lot cheaper with a nicer swim.

Hasn’t Roundhay lake got a reputation :face_vomiting:
