I paid as soon as it opened which I think was in the priority window and that was all in.

I think I paid about CHF300 to enter IMCH in 2005 - it’s now about 3x that price

For me personally salary is the same +/- £200 pa
I’ll wager that most triathlon kit has gone up by a greater % over the same time. Ryzon want £650 for a top end tri suit. Top end bikes: £12k.

Actually dreamed I was registering for an Ironman race last night.
It was like an Expo in London where each stall was a different IM race.

I have an IM dream about 3-4 times a year. It’s not identically recurring but always the same theme in that I’m in transition but doing something completely different.
The last one was that i was in the queue to enter the water and on a work call with my laptop in my hand trying to wind it up. Another one was where I was visiting someone in hospital and but had to leave to start the bike leg.
I’ve been having them for years and they always involve me either being late or unprepared. Seems somewhat accurate

I’ve watched more of that video, I want to go back to StP now. might have to do some running first though 
IIRC the run course was quite nice along the canal mainly as well. The bit over the bridge in the business park was a bit odd though, but broke it up into nice little portions

I think the run has changed a little now; more around the older part of the town. It was good that the towpath sections were one-way; unlike Roth for example!

Presumably the timing of Hamburg is to allow people to double up and do Frankfurt too?

Main reason was to avoid the blue-green algae in the lake; but 1 Jun is really early.
I always did; makes sense. Unless of course “you got this” with all the one & dones

Yeah, Hamburg, big pro race and think it’s the European championship race?
Seems a bit early but there’s about 4 70.3’s in Germany to avoid as well, although one was last week.

It seemed they couldn’t really get anything ‘right’ with it; none of the key ingredients that make people enjoy biking. The run conversely was excellent.
Not sure if it’s changed much, as by 2019 they’d already had 3 different bike courses in as many years. As for making a course with an out & back section 6km too long…WTF. I think it had more cobbles than Flanders too
