That was a late call but if it appeared overnight it’s better than a lot of sickness.
I wonder how the time trial start works.
5 athletes every 10 seconds
first part of the bike must be very busy.
Hmm, strangely they all have a T1 time so must have started near the swim exit or something. Maybe the timing team didn’t have time to update things ![]()
Very sad. I know someone doing the full (her sister is doing it as well.)
She is just beyond 21.1km on the run.
Yes, sadly whilst NIMBYism is a core British trait, it is not exclusively British. Twats abound globally.
Someone died the previous weekend doing the Fan Dance event over Pen Y Fan.
It’s cheesy and annoying and classic clickbait but the comments have made me smile

I saw that before, amusing.
Perpetuem…that takes me back. I used that at IM UK Sherbourne
I got my reply from Ironman today, to be fair to them they’ve done well to agree a new date with the local city in about a week. I had similar options to what Nice got, but strangely not an entry to Nice as I’m sure there must be spare spaces they’d like to fill.
Options were the rearranged date on 11th October. This wasn’t really good for me as it is a week after Barcelona and although I’ll be fairly close I’ve got other plans and frankly don’t fancy the swim or run after seeing them.
Then there was an option of 5 70.3’s including Florida and New York, as well as Portugal despite it being full, these were limited first come-first served. And also Leeds & Oman full distance. None of the dates work for me or I just don’t fancy them.
So, I’ve gone with the full refund, I’m hoping it includes the active fees but not holding my breath! I’ll put the money towards a race next year.
New half on the Algarve in early April, 1200m climb on bike course.
Also saw that they’ve moved Nice IM & 70.3 to mid September next year which is roughly when they’ve host the various WC’s in the last few years.
Hopefully a bit cooler than July but still hot.
The race in the Algarve should be nice but probably a bit early in the year for me.
Looks like CLS have moved on from Ironman with shorter distance races later in the year, also had a sprint and standard in March as well.
Telling people to go to Ironman Spain for that race.
70.3 might be alright, there used to be an Ironman one.
Edit: that’s when registration opens, I’ll have to check the race date ![]()
They’ve always had the Volcano tri Oly distance race a few weeks before the IM.
The middle distance is a new addition though
