I’m exactly the same.
I rarely swim over 2km in the pool. Feels like such a chore.
Happily plod around in OW though!

Certainly happy with the longer distances out in OW but sadly I end up with 3 days of sinusitis afterwards whereas I have no reaction in the pool, really annoying.
Yeah, I know what you mean. OW distance definitely does pass more quickly/easily. But previously I used to knock out 2k Monday lunchtime swims for fun in 31ish minutes. Now 33mins feels like a hard effort from little over halfway.
I don’t doubt I’d get around 3.8k, but I’d want to be coming out of the water feeling relatively fresh, not fatigued already
Nose clip sorted me out
Had a go but couldn’t get enough air out, need to have a play again in the close season, not that I’ve actually had an open season!
Prepare for the Danes to open the borders tomorrow, deferred this afternoon
Looks like a decent field for the race today.
Just had an interview with Hogenhaug after his 2nd place at Frankfurt last week. He came across as a very humble, nice chap.
Wurf wurfing his way up. Been seeing a lot of cr*p between Wurf and Sanders. Haven’t really paid much attention as it seems to be just noise between the two loud mouths of tri!
No aero bottles at all for Wojt. (well he has one integrated and 2 normals)
Who is going to win this? I’d have said Sanders before the race but Wurf could do it looking at how it’s set now…
looks great this year
2022 then
4:02 bike from Wurf!
Can’t help but think Lionel is holding back his bike a little to try to be able to run hard. Looks like he will be starting the run 5-6 minutes down on Wurf. Can he make it up?!
Does anyone know who the Aussie is who’s doing the commentary with Welchie? He’s really good, I’m very much enjoying his laid back attitude - it’s making for great viewing in the background while I work
I think it is Joe Gambles at least one of them sounds professional.
Lionel is running like a wounded wildebeest
I really need to get my arse out the door but this is good stuff …. Come on Lionel !!!
Yes, I think you’re right, Joe Gambles. He’s great
7:46 and a sub2:50 marathon is a real step up from Wurf. That’s proper decent running given what he did on the bike!
Does Sanders qualify with 2nd or does he need to find another race?
What’s the deal with Kona cut-off now anyway? Same as before? Do autumn races get you into Kona 22 in October?
I think there were 2 Kona slots. Wurf already had one. So Lionel and one other will qualify. Terrific running from
Wurf off the bike. Conditions looked ideal. The standard creeps ever faster…
Lionel is not pretty to watch!
Ive got to admit I massively underrated Wurf - I must’ve missed him learning to run! Great race. LS performed great. Goesch did very well, looks like Woit and Svennsson need to reappraise their pacing strategies though.
