IM Lanzarote 2022

I don’t think Lanza has sold out in years and lots of people go back every year, so loads of the folks on deferred places would have been doing 2022 anyway.

I can see entries filling faster than usual, but not like the days when IM races sold out in minutes

Given Symes’ track record, is anyone else expecting news of the volcano erupting in April?

read that el golfo sink holes unlikely to be fixed before race ,so guessing same route as 2021 ?

Wondered why the course had changed, couldn’t think what would cause them to take that section out as it doesn’t interfere with island traffic, makes sense now!

Have to check what the course was, see if I can track a GPX to drop into the tacx app to spin around it

Bring it on

Just did a Best Bike Split race thingy for Lanza, detail below.
I did one for Bolton last year that predicted a 5:54:33, 18.8mph and 192W average. Actual was 5:53:08, 18.9mph and 198W(not including flat tyre stop)…so pretty accurate.
Lots of work between now and May though, but good to see what’s possible

Distance 112.05 mi
Time 05:11:37
Avg. Speed 21.57 mph
Avg. Power 216.5 w
Normalized Power 226.02 w
Variability Index 1.04
Intensity Factor 0.75
Training Stress Score 291
Watts/Kg 3.23

My 90 minutes turbo-ing this morning has left me with this feeling too :upside_down_face:

Although, looking at the results from last year 5:11 would be up there considering the winner in my age group did a 5:30, so may be BBS is being a bit generous

Yeah, I thought 5:11 would be an awesome ride, especially if you could run off the bike.

Does BBS take any account of the wind?
