Sounds like he did every time he went out. ā€œFallingā€ sounds more like what he was doing :grimacing:

I would also add that the secret is to break bones, not joints. Everyone I know who damaged their knee or their shoulder still has a damaged knee/shoulder. I’ve mostly broken bones, when the heal, they’re healed. (I have reduced movement in my wrists, that’s about all).

Ok you can feel a lump on my lower leg, but it still works fine. There’s a slight dint in my head where they operated, but unless I put your fingers on it, you wouldn’t know. My ribs work fine and even my pelvis seems to have healed without any movement restrictions.

Back to the gym for a month and the trapped nerve in my shoulder has decided to come out to play again.

Absolute bloody agony, can barely move my head and sleep is a nightmare.

I’m thinking the pull up bar is a big no no. Time to look at new workouts at the gym

Have you considered a bungalow?

All I did was a couple of days of light DIY, lifting a few floorboards, followed next day by 2h20 hard bike and guess what, chuffin left knee swollen again. Grrrrrr, it took me 4 months to shake this off, in fact it had totally gone only a couple of weeks ago. So annoyed.

May have to see my specialist, or have a sniff around Ebay for cheap new hill runner/ tri knees, anyone seen any

That’s a bummer mate, hopefully only temporary?

Overdid it a bit last week with the 5K trainer test, then the 12K trail race on Sunday, been quite sore in the usual locations so generally sticking to the bike this week, it’s mostly settled down.

Will probably do a longer run\walk at the weekend.

Frustrating as I thought I was getting on top of it!

My left side if we don’t include the calf.

I guess that’s nearly 50%.

Could possibly use my left calf as well :joy:

Sounds like something out of Frankenstein, not sure what we could do with the spare nackered bits!

I felt bang on form on Tuesday evening across all aspects of SBR.

Wednesday lunchtime, my achilles twinged & got worse as I made my way back to base.

Wednesday evening, I get attacked by the shark at swimming - turns out it was hamstring cramp - which was hilarious for all watching but has caused some damage.

Thursday evening, Grant fucking Shapps fannies about using travel as a lure to get more people jabbed.

EDIT:- probably more suitable for Rant Thread.

I’d reconciled myself to never really running again, but all the talk on various threads with TTers prepping and training for various races has got me thinking about trying to get my feet fixed. I’ve booked an appointment with a physio for next week. TBH, I’m not getting too excited, as even if I can get going it’s going to be a really long road back. But, I want to at least try, even if only to be able to get round a sprint or oly triathlon.

Bit of self inflicted woe here today.

We have 2 quite big trees in our garden, yew and a ?? something else tree.

They have been neglected for at least 8 years. They are close enough together that they have grown into each other, which looks awful and isn’t doing either of them much good.

Today I finally got out the ladder and chain saw and had a go at pruning some branches. Some were as thick as a leg (although admittedly not @Poet s leg).

Chain saw wouldn’t start. Tried every trick in the book. Must have pulled the starter cord 300 times. With the result that I now have a sore creaky right shoulder.

But that’s not all. I finally got to work on them with a circular saw. One of the branches fell off and landed on my foot. Like a Muppet I was wearing old Sauconys rather than proper boots. That knitted upper doesn’t give you much protection against 50kg of tree.

After about 2 hours up a ladder with a circular saw, one of my neighbours (who is quite unusual) started screaming repeatedly at the top of his voice. Not a word or anything, just a vocalisation a bit like a fox caught in a trap. Also banging something like a hammer against his fence. I surmised that I had driven him completely mad, so stopped using the power saw and started using a handsaw. With my left arm, as right shoulder too sore. And now my left shoulder is equally sore.

And there’s a huge pile of branches on my lawn.

So there you go, 3 out of 4 limbs out of action in 1 day of DIY :frowning:

Should have got a tree surgeon in.

We need an update on the neighbour.

What was he doing? What did he want?
