Injury List- do any parts of you still work?

Lower back is on the verge of seizing. No matter what I do, it always seems a very weak area.

Also suffering neck/shoulder pain today.

Great

My neck has been tight and sore for a couple of weeks, had a couple of massages and got a few more though which are slowly helping. And the ice pack.

Yeah same. I think my pillow may have been causing issues. Been meaning to get a new one for ages. Bought a feather one. Nope. That’s going straight back!

Just had my new bamboo memory foam one arrive. I wasn’t hopeful and thought I’d be back with a crappy polyester one. But I really like it. Well just lying with it now. Got a proper 30 day trial on this one, so we’ll see if it helps. :crossed_fingers:t3:

Has a picture of a panda on it as well. So, ya know.

Just thought I’d share a bit of positive experience on here whilst my body is temporarily fixing faster than breaking.
I did a lot of cycling earlier in the year and then a 100 miler - road bike not TT - which is long for me. Developed a deep ache in my hip that wouldn’t shift. Only vaguely sore whilst cycling and not at all running but really niggly doing random things, particularly turning over in bed. After ignoring for a bit and then wondering if this was the start of the long decline to a new hip, I applied myself a bit to the problem and a combination of daily stretches and strengthening seems to have done the trick.
Stretches were:

and something along these lines

(That’s not me, though  )

And exercises were 4 and 12 off here 14 Hip Exercises: For Strengthening and Increasing Mobility

Plus a bit of other stretching and some scooting exercises but I don’t think they were significant. Has only, really, taken a fortnight of this after a month or two of hoping it would fix itself. Thought I’d share in case it’s useful for someone. The other issue I had like this was shoulder discomfort back when I was rock climbing a lot and that also was fixed mainly by strengthening smaller muscles around the joint with exercises in a different direction to the main sport usage.

Matt, excellent stretches and thanks for sharing.

I used to do those stretches, but a warning for the more mature among us, any knee movement lateral as well as bending at the same time, is really shite for knees, ala breastroke.

Says he awaiting second dextrose knee injections in two weeks.

I’ve managed 29K of running in the previous 3 days, including about 11K at quite a high intensity and not feeling too bad today, was only a bit mild discomfort this morning, although it was sore at the end of the trail run\walk yesterday.

Not getting too carried away yet but can’t help feeling getting my blood glucose (as per other thread) under a bit more control is helping, and possibly the sessions with the chiropractor.

Got the duathlon on Sunday which has about 15K which will be quite a test. Haven’t swam for a few weeks though but I can’t see me doing another triathlon again this year.

Cheers. I’ll be very careful of my knee.

Went for a swim last night & having had a miserable weekend I felt much better after it. I wouldn’t go as far as to call myself spritely but I am beginning to see light at the end of the tunnel  .

Didn’t put it on Strava, not because it was shit*, but in case The Man got word as I’m signed off work :see_no_evil: .

*(It was shit)
