Injury List- do any parts of you still work?

Clicks and pops from joints are nothing to worry about but them hurting is probably something to have someone look at. Or we can sort it out on here

I’m seeing the physio about my shoulder. I get 20 sessions though Axa. Wonder if I don’t use all 20 on the shoulder he can sort me knees, or is that going to be another bloody claim.

Looks like a traumatic abdominal wall hernia from picture and the bike crash. I am sure he can get some tax free surgery over there.

I have a chickpea size lump in my calf that I’ve ignored for a while. It’s been there at least a year and I’m fairly sure it hasn’t grown in size.
I finally went to see the GP and she thought potentially a ganglion but she sent me off for an ultra sound to confirm. Ultrasound lady said potentially a cyst within my muscle, hard for the scan to pick up the full detail as it’s quite deep. So I’m now off for an MRI at the end of the month to make sure it’s nothing sinister. When the appointment was made a GP from the practice said it might be a nerve knot as well. Hopefully they can confirm what it is, otherwise I assume I’m in for a biopsy.

Shame it wasn’t a ganglion as you would just have needed to hit it with a bible :grimacing:

( :crossed_fingers: all good obvs )

Hah! I’d not heard of that before. If it is and it gets bigger I’ll give it a go!

the ā€œhit it with a bibleā€ is actually the way that ganglions were treated in ā€œolden timesā€. the reason is that a bible was often the heaviest object available in a home that wouldn’t cause too much damage if you hit someone hard with one.

me and Mrs FB have tried it to clear a ganglion cyst on the back of my hand - didn’t use a bible but another heavy book. it worked.

Good luck :crossed_fingers:t2:

God know what I’ve done to my little finger but its bloody agony. Started yesterday when I was doing some cleaning and tidying in the kitchen. Now it’s slight swollen and I can’t bend it all the way.

It is possible to sprain a finger?

Upper respiratory infection

Saw the muscular skeletal consultant today, and had an ultra sound. I’ve got an inflamed bursa in my shoulder. Tendon is ok.

Anti inflams, and a sreriod injection in Jan if they don’t solve it.

Got told to lose weight as well. Thanks, wasn’t asking.

Any recovery plan in place?

Thanks. Like you its getting me down a bit. Swimming is the best exercise to get me going again, but I cant with my shoulder like this.

Its annoying timing as well as she said I should go back in 3 weeks, but then the clinic is closed, and Drs off so its in to Jan now

Thanks FP and Annas. Don’t feel too bad today so still working but that is just at home so not too taxing physically. I was asthmatic as a kid and getting these isn’t too uncommon for me. I usually get worse for 2-3 days (day 2 today) then it breaks and I am much better within a few days. The week following I keep exercising really easy and avoid doing any outdoors if it is cold and damp.

Physio last night, looking at the IT Band.

The physio described it as ā€˜an iron rod in my leg’. Bit of treatment, immediately feels better. That said, reckon running is a little way off.

Despite the rowing and spin classes, I’m genuinely worried I’m going to end up 2-3 stone overweight!

Has your physio being doing work with your glutes. TFL and knee/foot control?
