Injury List- do any parts of you still work?

So, if I run 1min mile (45ish sec km) faster all my pains pretty much go away (well other than the burning lungs and exploding heart).

My LSR at weekend I didn’t find easy, I was counting down to my walk breaks, HR was still high, still short of breath.
Pick it up, running feels “normal” albeit proper hard work, ankle pain eases almost immediately, nothing from the Achilles.
My form running slow must be so so bad :person_shrugging:

Im the same, I cant run slow, must be about different muscles getting git or something. One reason I havent run for a while. Too fat to run normal pace and just cant do it slow.

I think I have to much ground contact time and far less forefoot involved.
I was blowing out my arse and mentally found the whole thing quite challenging (3 years ago Id’ve been running that pace, on a run commute, with a bag for twice the distance).
Still, this is where I am… onwards!!

I am clearly a better runner than both of you as I have no problem running slowly . It’s running fast I struggle with

I’ve got my shoulder op at 6pm today, so I’m just eating my last meal :open_mouth:

I’ve never spent a day in hospital since I was born, so I can’t say I’m looking forward to the whole experience. :frowning:

Private though isnt it? Will be fine, probably have your own room and half decent meal

Yeah, definitely have my own room.

I’ll reserve judgement on the meal, but hopefully something that I can eat with just my left hand

Good luck are you in overnight?

Yes, apparently it can be a day job, but because I’m only having the surgery at 6pm it’s an overnighter. I should be out by 10am tomorrow.

I’m a bit concerned by the number of people wishing me “luck”. I was kind of hoping that luck wouldn’t come into it

Not like they ever operate on the wrong side…

Maybe I should get Mrs W to right “good” and “bad” on my shoulders with a permanent marker before I go

Be prepared for the ‘you need to wear these recovery boots’. They’re ok the machine is a noisy and you have dreams of fighting an octopus.

The surgeon will do that. When my daughter broke her arm (compound fracture) they drew a big arrow on the arm that needed fixing, as if the bone poking out wasn’t a big enough clue.

I’ve stayed in hospital so many times I’ve lost count and the longest stint was 14 weeks. I didn’t starve or die so mustn’t grumble…

Good luck. See you on the other side

I’m with @Bob on this. I’ve spent many a day/night in hospital and it will be fine, especially in a private room. The care you get is excellent ime - can be a bit mind numbing at times answering the same question over and over again (name, DOB usually) from different people but they all have your best interests at heart.

A while back I added up all the times I’ve been under a general anaesthetic and it came to 19!

Mostly private but a mix of public as well. I was in for a couple of weeks in Oz once and my mate would come by every day because I had Foxtel in the room

Still alive😀

The last thing I heard before the anaesthetic kicked in was “Don’t stop believing “ by The Journey.

Appropriate? :roll_eyes::rofl:

Totally inappropriate because the next line is “hold on to that feeling”, when the opposite is intended.

How are things this morning? :face_with_head_bandage:

Probably down to the drugs, but the shoulder feels OK this morning.

My hip is giving me more grief when I get out of bed. Apparently they scraped some “spare” bone off my hip to graft the bits of collarbone together😳
