the first time yes I think so, it happened pretty quickly but I landed with heel half off the curb and the foot sort of folded into eversion before I knew what was happening. Was able to run on but it didn’t feel right.
the second time was an inversion though & that’s the punch that turned the lights out.
Well that’s a relief, it appears I was just being a drama queen yesterday. Much better this morning. Can put my toes on the ground (would you like to see?), although not heel yet.
Still can’t walk, but managed to wheel myself to the pool on my bike this morning. Swam a very slow 1500 pull with one legged tumble turns.
Top of foot is now swollen and a nice purple colour, which oddly is reassuring as this is what it feels it should look like. Main mission is to rest it today so I don’t freak out too many people at work tomorrow. Was I moaning recently about having a sedentary job? I take it all back.
It’s been a while since I had any sort of injury, but they always remind me how easy it is to take a full complement of working parts for granted. When actually, it’s an amazing thing, and I guess at the end of the day maintaining the old chassis and engine is my main motivation for still doing this crazy sport after all these years. Not the paintwork though, that’s beyond salvage.
My back has improved a bit, not sure if it’s because of the ibuprofen last night I expected it to last a few days. Still pretty sore though.
Good news about the foot fruity, I regularly roll my left ankle when fell running, if I do it once I nearly always do it twice more as well usually settles after a couple of days and rarely swells or bruises so I guess I’m just aggravating the tendons etc
