Can be upper quads or TFL, bit of massage might ease it?
Could be. My hip flexors always give me grief. Sitting down all day.
I can feel it in the thin strips on the front of my thighs and across the glutes. Places that are really hard to reach.
In the past I would go see my guy for a sports massaage and he would fix me right up but thats a luxury I cant afford given recent life events.
Iāve got a big medicine ball which helps with some of those areas, easier than a foam roller
Get doing some yoga
Was doing some basic yoga poses earlier. Probably would be good to be shown how to do them properly.
Was getting a massage\physio earlier tonight and mentioned the leg was sore again from the parkrun. Other than the rear\medial area around the knee she thinks there isnāt any huge damage in the hamstrings, got to say when she was working on it the pain levels were low.
The adductor on the other hand, and quad around that area werenāt great, the adductor was particularly rough when she was going over it.
Should really keep working on those areas, although Iām likely to be doing less sitting down for the next week which might also help.
Do you ever use those thing adductor/ abductor weights machines at a gym? I found a real weakness of adduction (which having discovered, completely ignored obviously, but know probably should be doing something about it)
I do from time to time and have restarted in the last week or two but trying not to aggravate it further by putting too much load on it. Also try and do it in a controlled way, e.g. slow and in both directions. Wonder if I should also try the swiss ball between my legs.
I think itās a stabilisation thing, need to see how it goes with shorter runs.
My back still hurts like hell. A slight improvement but on a scale of 1 to 10 pain has gone from a 7/8 to a 6 so nothing significant.
Got a really bad cold as well. Oddly for me colds always start with a sore throat, but this one started with a cough and havent had a sore throat at all. Feel like shit. Wonder if ifs the old covid.
Good news is that the cricket place has someone who can take my spot so I can get my money back.
I have a pain about 10cm above my ankle inside right leg. Could it be shin splints? Not sure Iāve had that and always assumed it was on the front.
Between the tibia and the gastrocenmius?
I had that from to much pronation due to flat feet. There is a muscle that goes down there, past the bulgy ankle bit and under the foot to the bridge.
Yeah could be that, I do have low arches. I did a hill repeat session 5 days ago, a very easy hill run 2 days later and I think it started during/after that.
Iāve did a parkrun the following morning and I was limping after! The next day I did a 11k trail race. I have another race on Sunday so hoping a few days rest plus ibuprofen will helpš¤
Far too much sitting around munching goodies has made my glutes, back and bands stiffer than usual, always the same if I sit too much and donāt follow my normal daily mobility routine.
Also had a couple of NHS physio sessions this month for a shoulder/neck niggle Iāve had for years an done nothing about. The neck is just wear and tear and sitting at a computer 8 hours a day. The shoulder is a rotator cuff injury. Got the usual load of exercises to do, just need to discipline myself to do them!
My leg is still not right. I have a nerve tumour on my right leg so Iām now wondering if thereās some pressure. I got discharged from plastics last month as it wasnāt causing an issue. Iām not getting any tingles but potentially some moments of numbness. Iāve reduced running and bumped up the cycling which Iāve neglected for a while!
so, your left leg?
Your right
10th day of no running and I donāt think my leg has improved. Iām really missing going out for a lunch run, weather looks perfect! I canāt stand on one leg without it feeling weak. Has anyone on here had shin splints? Did you find it hard to stand on the dodgy leg?
My plan is to rest it for a couple of weeks and see if thereās no improvement, itās time to call the Doc .
Doctor doctor, why canāt I feel my legs?
I amputated your arms
Could it be sciatica?
Not sure, it seems to be localised from calf to above ankle, would sciatica be higher up as well?
