Two recurring niggles. My right knee, there is a bit of pain top of the cap on the inside, where rhe teardrop head of the quad connects. Occasionally if feels like it will give way.

My bloody arse cheek. There is something not right about my hip flexors, front and back. Whenever I do some movement they get tight and hurt.

They have both flared up tonight coaching cricket and tomorrow ive got a whole day completing my coaching course which is going to destroy me. Going to have to wear a knee brace.

I’ve got another massive ear infection. Ibuprofen is holding it at bay but I’m struggling to chew proper food it’s that sore. I didn’t even go swimming to cause it. It’s getting to the point where I’m going to have to wear ear plugs in the shower FFS. Luckily it’s easy to get a Drs appointment here so just got to hold out til Monday.

A throbbing ear does put you off training though. Will grit it out on turbo later.

Does anyone else get ear infections? Do you use any preventative sprays, Ear Calm, etc? I need to address this. :frowning:

I used to get them when I swam a lot. Blammed the scummy pool I swam in.

I used a spray, cant remember what it was called, might have been swim ear. It had a mild solvent that made the water evaporate easier. Put that in before and after.

Now. Do not, I repeat do not, use it until the infection has completely cleared. My god . Was like some had shoved a red hot poker in my ear.

This is a good one…. Yesterday early evening whilst waiting for MrsF to get home from work I decided to lie on the sofa and watch some tv. The cat came along and sat/slept on the right side of my chest and on my right arm which was beside me,

Well, today I feel like I’ve bruised/cracked my ribs or something, it just really aches and I blame the cat. He’s just over 4kg. This is ridiculous.

Nice. I hurt my foot by walking with my shoe lace too tight.

I’ve booked to go and see a podiatrist in York but couldn’t get in until mid-April, he’s got a good reputation and a couple of lads from the running club have used him in the past, I’ve thought off and on about going but decided to get it booked this time. I’m not sure if the Nike Peg’s are contributing to my problems as I was told a long time ago to use Brooks Adrenaline as they were a good support shoe.

Not completely sure about orthotics, I can see what they are supposed to achieve but often the body adapts?

Anyway, although it isn’t cheap I’m willing to try most things atm.

Lots of people scoff at orthotics. For me they were a game changer. I have flat feet and was getting pain. Ever since getting orthotics it went and never returned.

Not sure I’m scoffing at them, more trying to avoid the hope they’ll end my injury issues and end up disappointed.

The GF has some and help her.

But I’m open to trying them, can’t see them making things worse.

if you post any trotter action photos from the podiatrist visit, don’t forget the 9pm watershed

@APM likes to get them by PM I think he said

This is the problem with orthotics. The idea is that they support the bones of the foot to help control movement. But the reality is that they don’t do that. It seems that they modify how the muscles of the foot control the movement. It means that if you had for example 5 people with the same size foot and all have a right foot that is deemed to need arch support to the same extent. If you created 5 identical orthotics for the right foot you are likely to get five different results.

This doesn’t mean that they won’t work but that the success rate is a bit hit and miss. Like with running shoes, comfort of the orthoses seems to be the best predictor of their success.

Having had an echocardiogram and 7 day ECG monitor for Wales NHS to check on my AF, I get a letter from a Consultant Cardiologist this morning telling me nothing new but wanting to see me in his clinic to discuss matters - but no suggested appointment date/time given.

Marvellous

Some joined up thinking would helpful so I guess I’ll have to call your secretary on Monday.

This is what’s happening because doctors letters are now being automated via dictation/AI. But without the consultant secretary check that all the details are include. My friend is one of the dying breed of secretaries and she has to deal with a lot of issues because doctors haven’t included all the details.
