Hoping it will FRO before the SDW100 - tapering should help with that a bit

I found wall sits really helped with that.
Did a bit of thinking last week re my back situation. Iām stuck in no manās land at the moment with seeing a private physio and possibly getting a private MRI but also being completely outside of my Drās care and the NHS system.
My friendās wife is an NHS rehab specialist (works in Southampton, not Winchester) and said Iād probably be better off at least engaging with the NHS as they might move quicker than I think.
Iāve also not been overly happy with the physio Iāve been seeing. So I rang my surgery last week and theyāve got me in to see their own physio tomorrow. Not sure what will come of it but it seems prudent to head down this path, even if itās in parallel.
Overall, I think itās improving, less nerve pain but still sore and achey AF. I can definitely walk more than I could before though.
Will give that a whirl - thanks
Good news. My hand is completely healed. Bruising and swelling has all gone and no pain either. Surprised how quickly it healed. When I got winged on the calf from that fast bowler it took weeks. Fit and ready to pick up a new injury this weekend.
Went to see the NHS physio yesterday. She was very thorough and explained that the first action would usually be a course of physio and if that did not work, theyād refer me to the ortho surgeon who can authorise an MRI.
However, she did some tests with me and pretty much concluded that itās not muscular in her opinion and sheās putting me straight on the list to see the specialist. That will be 4-6wks and probably another 4wks after that for an MRI.
Not really sure what to think TBH.
Itās been mighty windy the past few days and Iāve taken full advantage of it by going windsurfing. When the wind hits gale force thatās my limit. Yesterday was at the limit and as a result of one of my tumbles I think Iāve bruised some ribs. Nowhere near as painful as when I fractured (I think) them about 20 years ago as I can just about sneeze at the moment.
No trotters!
Had to do a SAR to the private hospital to get my records to pass on. Just had another mail from IEP/NHS, all a bit clandestine but turned out to be some old images of my spine. Canāt copy them so took a screen shot.
It was not pleasant accommodating these for a few years!
Yoikes!
That looks serious
That was operation number 4 āThe Big Oneā. 9hrs at Princess Margaret Hospital. Those things stayed for about 4yrs, then the last two ops were based around taking them out.
I was afraid Iād collapse like a drunken blancmange but I managed to eventually get upright again. Itās weird seeing those pics again. They were very uncomfortable for about a year, felt like someone had inflated a football in my back.
Anyway, NHS have all the info now, so hopefully Iām in the queue to see the ortho surgeon eventually.
My sinuses are a bit better today, also had an antihistamine last night after a sneezing bout in the park. Not sure if Iāve been fighting something, sinusitis, hay fever RHR and HRV have been about normal.
Not felt terrible as such, about 75% and in a CBA mood, hopefully continue to ease.
Iām in a bad way today and have been since yesterday lunchtime. Apart from a painful back, I was fine yesterday morning. By lunchtime my throat was very sore and I was coughing badly, extremely dry cough.
Spent the night equal parts shivering and a head temp that felt like it was boiling itself. Not much better today.
I have a 90 min strategic risk meeting and pipeline spend review with Finance. Plus a 1-1 with my boss. I hope they are not expecting quality input today!
thereās a new Covid variant known as Nimbus doing the rounds - gives a very sore throat. Do a test.
Youāre the 2nd person to say that. Will do
Yay, progress, kind of:
*Dear Mr Ian *
You were recently referred to a specialist by your local healthcare provider.
The office of the specialist will contact you.
You do not need to do anything at this stage, but to view and track this referral, please log into your NHS account with your NHS login email and password.
and while youāre at it give them your bank details, passport number and NI numberā¦ā¦
Not following. It is from the NHS, I use the app to renew my migraine medication.
Got to say the wording looks very suspicious to my mind - āthe office of the specialistā?
Oh I see, yes it is a bit vague. Definitely from some kind of health service, somewhere in world⦠Will I wake up in bath of ice with āCALL AN AMBULANCEā written in lipstick on my chest?
Not an injury, but just had my knackers done. Smelt by balls burning.
Right testicle aches likes hell, left seems fine. Odd.
