Snip?
Aye.
Welcome to the club
Few days ago I accidentally bit my tongue when eating. Ive got a small ulcer from it. It has been painful.
This morning Ive got the worst sore throat I think ever (and Ive had glandular fever before). Only in one side.
Its not that new covid strain, did a test. Can only assume its related to the ulcer.
Fucking hurts, more than my testicles that have just been zapped. Nothing is touching it. Throat spray, bonjela, paracetamol, ibuprofen, not working.
copious amounts of alcohol??
Almost 5pm. Will try and report back.
when you accidentally bite it a second time, that will make your eyes water
Thatâs as painful as a kick in the nuts
which is something else @GRamsay wonât be wanting at the moment
That doesnât sound especially good, Iâd be on the lookout for peritonsillar abscess / quinsy with that story.
Especially if looking in a mirror down things look swollen and red on one side, or if swallowing is a problem, of just feeling generally feverish and grim.
(Maybe not but thatâs what crossed my mind reading what you put)
Useful tool during COVID, that may help GPs during phone appts if you hadnât come across it.
Our ENT guys are off site and still use to help exclud3 peritonsillar abscess in anyone with a score 0-3 with 98% accuracy
What exactly is a hot potato voice?? Sounds like a compliment
Thanks @fruit_thief and @Chriswim . Ill keep an eye on it. I have no other symptoms. Doesnt look red or swollen on that side, well the tonsil on that side is bigger than the other but they look the same, I feel otherwise absolutely fine, no fever. Can swallow ok, it just hurts a lot.
If anything changes or gets worse ill see a doctor.
as opposed to taking advice from 2 medics on an anonymous forumâŚâŚ.
Not knowing that? I guess that explains why doctors only get 20% of diagnosis correct.
According to Microsoft when wanting to explain why you should really believe in their AI - The Path to Medical Superintelligence | Microsoft AI
Yeah, exciting times. Thereâs waaaaaaay too much for any person to know, and the body of knowledge in human health science is expanding at a crazy pace. Doubling every 3 months was one estimate I read- like Mooreâs law on steroids. Especially when you consider the really technical bits like molecular science, genomics and epigenetics. Co-intelligence is absolutely what we need to help navigate a body of knowledge like this. If Microsoft say AI could make aspects of healthcare 400% better, I can believe it & am pretty excited to be working through this sort-of-industrial-revolution.
Hope youâre feeling a bit better today @GRamsay.
PS @JibberJim hope you didnât link to that article just to scare @GRamsay
Pretty sure itâs not that!
About the same, throat is slightly less bad. Today feels more like a sore throat, yesterday felt like I was gargling a razor blade and vinegar mix.
Still no other symptoms, although lymph nodes are a little swollen. Mine always pip at the slightest sign of infection or problem. Im tired but I slept terribly last couple of nights. Mostly because of the heat.
The ulcer is healing ok and doesnt look infected.
