He’d have a select following Hes far greater “legend” status than the cowboy who isnt even a cowboy
Is he even an Ironman?
Yes, but a very MOP one according to STers.
Didn’t he have that status revoked by Ironman
whereas I AM a cowboy. (but err, the other kind
)
Jozsef and Ferenc showed no sign of slowing down at the Italy Triple Deca in 2014? ish. They had adapted, and would have been interesting to see who was the Last Man Standing if it had continued infintum. Must be something in the water in Hungary.
Maybe back then I could have joined them. Not now, turns out I’m NOT Peter Pan FFS, tho I did get chance to successfully compete with Jozsef the year after on a Quintuple (1 a day format), on my patch at EnduroMan AT. The most competitive race I’ve ever had. After 4 half days we were dead even starting the last marafun, which I then edged by 10 mins. Happie Daze. On naff all training, like you do. As you train yourself into these sort of events DURING it. Adaptation: You either can or you can’t (assuming you pace it correctly obvs). Only way to find out is to rock up and try. You will either come down with ‘Deca fever’ (body says no) or you will adapt.
nb. Jozsef’s magic tip was a Pint each night after Day 13. He never looked back.
Yeah, that’s great 'an all, but how many Instagram followers do you have between you?
No it’s still a bit grim around Ibrox. Have a pal who stays not too far. Nice flats - bit crumbly. I think weather here determines how grim everything looks. It’s prob improved. Everything is going up a bit. Finnieston’s got a bit hipster - Dennistoun apparently too
Dennistoun Tartan = Burberry
Ha ha nice
Just shows how we’ve pretty much forgotten about this challenge! It was only saying that I rarely frequent ST that made me think of this.
It does make me wonder if this challenge is actually too long. There’ll be a bit of a fanfare when he finishes but everyone is already bored of it.
It’s not even like a point to point challenge taking a similar time where at least you can track progress, it’s just exactly the same day after day.
The guy is a serial narcissist, he’ll finish this and dollar to doughnuts, he’ll take every talk show interview he can and not correct any of them when they say ‘100 ironmans in 100 days’.
Then feign innocence later when getting called on it and come out with a pithy excuse like ‘I’m not responsible for what they say’.
to do 100 days in a row 16+ hrs days takes some doing , my only negative is would have been good to see him knock out a few running marathons ,at least one marathon .
i certainly couldn,t work 100 days in a row 16+hrs a day
The endurance effort is amazing, no doubt. The guy’s character undoes all that for me though.
Well, it’s very much a time & inclination thing isn’t it. He’s probably about the ONLY person in the world that is motivated (and able to get the time) to do something like this. Even the faster Deca/20/30/40 guys haven’t bothered.
totally understand ,but do you not think you need to have a certain belief of view of yourself to do something like this.
i really think unless you speak to a person in person maybe you can not judge a person via socail media and youtube
Seen a little bit of adverts pop up for this guy recently. Training seems to involve lots of crossfit. And I’m sure he’s a lovely man doing some wonderful things, but I can’t help but feel slightly negative towards the whole concept and opportunism to “get a world record”.
Agreed.
I might go for the 69-69-69 World record.
is that in 69 69 69 in triathlon
