Ok not IM distance but I have a MD duathlon next week. I thought I could wing it on 400ml in the Giant Trinity’s aero bottle but I am now thinking for 60km (1:30 ish) I might need more than that. So I was thinking of either swapping out the aero bottle and putting in a 700ml standard bottle or stick a 500ml bottle behind the saddle.
Thoughts?
I’d go for this.
Yeah agree with @buzz that aerocoach bottle test showed a small cost in having a bottle behind your saddle. Big bottle on the down tube probably the worst for drag
Who the hell has 900ml bottles?
That’s like carrying a keg around with you.
Did think that
People who have sweat that pisses out of them
IMJ, carry 4 x 1L bottles of tailwind up sheephouse 3 times
I’m up there with the best of sweaters. But I’ve not seen a bottle bigger than 750 before!
4…!
I have a 900, I think?!
If he’s going to go round Oulton at 40 kph for 90 mins in the summer he might need more than 400, depends on sweat rate I guess.
Is that a Canyon bike?
HAHAHAHA - you needed to zoom in to spot the detailed branding I see!
I recently bought a 950ml bottle - but only to tip me over the free shipping total. Use it for the turbo, haven’t ventured outside with it yet. It is heavy when full!
Is this the setup for Lakesman?
Yup think so.
I can angle the tool bottle down - but think Id rather keep it vertical as a greater chance it’ll still be there if I need it.
Not sure if leaving the food bag on - gels can go in tri suit, but a bit easier to deal with rubbish.
Not sure if it was Lakesman… but sure I read that food stations you need to stop to pick stuff up yourself. Worst case I’ll just need 1 bottle. Carried all this in training so kinda used to it - even if it adds 2kg to the bike weight.
My eyes. My eyes.
Probably about 1kg, yeah?
Whats up with it - apart from too many weeds along the gutter?
I mean theres at least 2 items on there carrying almost no branding at all
depends what’s in it. Could be mega viscous gloop (not the Gwyneth Paltrow type)!
