Ended up on a TT bike with proper brakes (34x30) should see me spinning up those long drags, at least on the first lap.

Yes. And the equivalent in T2 with bike stuff going in the red bag.
The bag system confused me on my very first 70.3, but it’s actually all very logical.

It is a bit of a non story, really, but you can’t expect all locals to be over the moon. Towns that embrace these races (Tenby, Roth & Hilpoltstein, etc.) can do really well out of the race, but even there you get frustrated locals (recall that 2 years ago someone poured oil on a tight bend at Wales).

I’m registered, was racked and back home today by 11am.
There is a mini party at the 90degree left hander coming into Ainsworth. Camper van and a fair few people. That’s my lot.
My years training so far:
6 swims - 2hr 9min
997 miles on the bike
271 miles run.
Time training since the 113 - 2 hours.
Gonna set out near the back and plod my way round. Actually quite looking forward to a very long day out.
I deserve nothing and expect nothing. I’ll high5 some kids and try to have a laugh.
