Ironman UK 2021

Nothing to it apparently …

Like we said on the book of Faces, can’t see this going ahead in 2020…

…hopefully Wales goes ahead and we can transfer to that, instead, which is proper wishful thinking.

Wilmslow Half rescheduled for October
Wilmslow Triathlon rescheduled for mid-September

u more chance of winning lottery than them offering you a transfer to wales !

the option will be defer to 2021 or any race in europe in 2020 NOT full

This :point_up_2:

I’m guessing Ireland will cop it is as well.

which will work well for people who won’t be able to keep up their swim training as it may be bike run anyway

The Irish Examiner focussed on the fact WTC are/will not refund any entry fees, along with the fact the swim was cancelled “at a rain hit” event last year.

May events now being postponed.

I think people should just throw-the-towel-in on a 2020 Ironman season in Europe. Make your peace with it.

As I said on another thread, if the race is cancelled but flights are back on again, my hotel is booked, my bike is booked, make it a weekend away to include a decent training ride and course recce and return when they defer

One has been rescheduled in October I think.

Like that attitude :+1:t2:

@Jorgan is probably right, I am gutted for you all who had planned to race. I was looking forward to coming along to cheer you on.

I’ll be out. Chasing my refund now.
I don’t want to mix with people.
And 2021 isn’t going to be good, with no vaccine in sight.

Yep, this is going to be longer-term than people think or hope. IMUK19 was a great show. I’d have been there spectating this year. I hope when it comes back, everyone will get a chance to race it again…

I was going to at least spectate this year. Would you not be worth hanging on Poet, might get a full deferral until next year.

With the new house that needs renovating?
No training will be happening until my bifolds go in and I’m sat on the decking with a cigar and glass of Valbuena #5 :wine_glass:

This year was it for me :disappointed_relieved:

EDIT: Also, I might be dead next week, so I’d rather just take the cash back now.

How are you going to do that for a race that’s not yet cancelled? And will likely officially be postponed (at least initially) with other options available for deferral?

Not saying you’re wrong, but genuinely intrigued to know how you intend to approach this with your credit card company

I don’t have a personal CC

I’ve sent Ironman UK a personal email, hoping to appeal to their common sense.

:joy::joy:

Sorry to be crass, but this cracked me up. I reckon there’s about as much chance 2020 race will go ahead as Ironman doing a personal refund.

Not crass at all!
I think the Same, but you know

We’ve passed the 120 day chargeback period for my debit card.
Also just gone past the 50% refund period for it, too.

I’d rather do it on my single speed and walk the marathon than get a 25% refund.
