Ironman UK 2021

OH! No, I mean taking the gels and bars from the course and giving them to supporters…

…getting my value for money right there.

I’m guessing 350 gels and bars should make me even.

  I see; that’s a very innovative way of stocking your sports larder!

OH!!

Lol. Yeah, Robin Hood. Spread the love

Could you not get a bike trailer for it all?

He obviously wasn’t German with that margin of error

@jeffb - Looking at some bikes in transition, one could only assume that is what their Bento boxes are for

Do they hand-out gels on the bike in Bolton? A lot of races don’t due to littering. I generally stick to energy bars (bento) and bananas as my solid food on the bike.

Yep
Enervit ones

Had one on the run I think.

Usual taste and consistency … no bad guts.

Technically that is littering, and also a DQ.
I’ve heard of someone getting caught out by giving a family member a top they were wearing as it had warmed up.

Bit ridiculous, but thems the official rules. I’ve always been scared to use an actual bin on the course, if it’s not in a littering zone.

Good old WTC with the right attitude there

Anyways…back to reality and not stealing…

…I’ve found myself visualising Staffs and Bolton and working through various scenarios whilst out recently, I’m getting pretty excited to start proper training now…16th March it begins

It’s nice of you to mark my birthday with such a significant landmark

Is your IM same date as Bolton?
Easy way to remember when the proper work starts for you!

99% sure this is it…

Well ish…
Being honest I have no clue…

I thought you were binning Bolton?

Well…

…still up in the air, but no point not visualising it.
That’s free

I believe so.
I don’t really have a “start date” per se. What would be the conceptual significance of 17 weeks out?

16 week training block + 1 week contingency.
Because something always comes up

I think that’s okay! I’ve done it loads in events: using council litter bins.
