I did the first ever IM70.3-branded race at Longleat in 2005 and there was no lion on the medal for that!

I seem to recall that the swim was in a lake with visibility so bad that you couldn’t see beyond your own hand when you were swimming and it was surrounded by signs saying “no swimming - blue algae” :nauseated_face:

No medal for them…!

Not aware of anyone going for that option, I’m on two IMUK groups everyone agreed if they went for the no swim… they should leave !

Crawling!!

Ditto, still got the Tshirt

The lake was Shear Water, and it was a split transition business with some complicated arrangement of busses between there and Longleat.

I was well disappointed that it wasn’t in the hippo lake.

FINAL FINAL…until 5pm tomorrow :rofl::rofl::rofl:

How many spelling mistakes :scream::see_no_evil::sob:

And you cannot wear your number under your wetsuit, or it’s a DQ :frowning: :man_shrugging:t4:

Pretty sure I won’t be wearing my wetsuit or goggles for the bike leg either :rofl:

Good to see we hand in our white bags just before the swim start…saddened to see no swim warm up like :face_with_symbols_over_mouth::frowning::sob:

Hopefully tomorrow changes nothing and the race goes ahead.

Anyone signing up for the 70.3, I think it opens tomorrow?

Can’t imagine the flash will be very warm in late September though.

Hydration bladder down your skinsuit?

No way.
Might have to go back to the leaky Elite Buta.

@SidSnot @leahnp - How do you guys make your “super syrup”?
I recall you say you boiled water and mixed the BetaFuel that way, then you’ve got three/four bottles worth in one bottle to water down in the BTA bottle - and that just “swishes” together all by itself?

FWIW; my last three long rides I’ve got my strategy nailed down, so I’m happy with the below, just trying to work out how to carry it :man_shrugging:t4:

3 x BetaFuel / Maurten
1 x Coke
1 x Banana
2 x Nakd Bars
2 x Trek/Lara Bars

@Poet have you ticked the box saying you’ll accept your kona spot when you get it?

At an Ironman, how does “street wear” differ from “run bag” ?

It’s the after race bag with fresh underwear in it :joy:

Run bag is for your trainers etc
