Jeez, any thoughts about just leaving it until you’re a lot older before going for Kona qualification go right out the window - there’s tonnes of 60+ blokes in there

Nah not this time (although I am feeling rather envious). The other triathlete Matthew Evans might be the Matthew Evans who was one of the guys instrumental in setting up IM Wales -I think he’s still involved in the Long Course Weekend

F’ing good.
I’ve just cried my way round 161km in the pouring rain, frozen to the core, then somehow managed to put my running kit on and shuffle 5km before shivering away to nothing.

Got a 2km swim, drive up to do two loops of Bolton and a 16km off the back of that on Monday (I’ve not seen just how hilly it (the run course) is yet…)

Well…it’s my daughters birthday and Fathers Day this weekend, as well as a BBQ, so I’ve shifted out my weekend session to Monday (I did this weeks ago…)
Rest day tomorrow.
