If your on the start list, which I know you are, active/ Ironman send this out to you.

I’ve had Very few emails from Ironman.
First I find out about things is here or Facebook.

I’ve logged into my Active account and picked my times, using my only email address :face_with_symbols_over_mouth::man_dancing:t3:

I’m on the start list and have my QR code, so all good there.

Registering 4-5pm Thursday (hopefully traffic is okay!)
Racking 9-10am Saturday.

Get it over and done with.

Does traipsing round reclamation yards and carrying half a tonne of sand (20 bags) count?

Also knocked off some bricks and coping stones.

Did a 30 minute jog.

I made my nutrition “plan” today, proper easy stuff.
Got my race plan, too, mentioned it above :+1:t3::ok_hand:t4:

I’ve torn my hands to shreds lifting the reclaimed stones - as they still had all of the old mortar on.
I helped out chiselling it off, too.

Anyways, TAPERING…

…My HR has been incredibly low for running pace. And it was also super low for the bike power on Sunday.

I’ve never ever seen 130bpm for 4:50/km :scream:
Yesterday’s 10km was 143bpm for 4:26/km :exploding_head::person_in_lotus_position:

Properly low for me.

So I’m either perfectly tapered, or ill :see_no_evil::rofl:

Today … did hour bike @ 200w, that’s a lot for me … hr lowest ever and it was hot.

Ran Up and down the prowler mat 10 times…
230? Ms.

Uncomfortable with back and ribs but better than two days ago …!

Fast forward ten mins in the pool, one length breast stroke … front crawl… not a chance … immediate stabbing pain… currently can’t swim at all, not sure I’d make it doing breast stroke in a wetsuit … I have thought about it?!

My massage girl said three days ago

“ If you race in that condition you could really hurt yourself and it will take you months to recover”

That’s were I’m at… anyone tapering thinking they have problems … you haven’t.

That’s shit. Sorry to hear that buddy. Need to look after the long game though for sure, as horribly disappointing as that may be.

Hopefully another couple of days will help? We can hope for you.

There’s a nice rest after 1.9km, too…

Yes I fell off 16 days out from IMUK on the loop.

No biggie, actually swam 2 x 3 k pool pbs and ran 10 k outside after it, but then did a brick session
Hour bike - 10 k run ( 48 mins) back stiff all the way through the run ?!

It’s got steadily worse since then?!?
Hardly done anything in the last 5 days, I was certainly expecting better today.

As poet says I could try breast stroke… but it’s a long way and if it’s stiff after 200ms… running , being realistic I wouldn’t finish the marathon… and if I did what damage would I do?

Obviously down but it’s only sport I guess…!

Ah sorry to hear that. I was probably sulking from my DNF and not paying attention.

I’m already an Ironman ( much ) harder course too! … ish.

Got the cbd oil working overtime and brufen in bulk supply, the crap thing is a few more days and I’d make it to the start…

What will be will be but if I can’t swim … at all?!
It’s a bit of a non starter.
