Ironman UK 2021

They better be serving grapes

To be fair; to me, that starts a massively painful slog to the top :rage::sob:
I’ll be in tears on Lap 3 :man_shrugging:t4:

then the no aerobars descent to the reservoir, then the “lovely” TT bit back into Bolton.

Crumbs that’s tough. The wait for the scan is the the longest days ahead of you but fill it with friends and family and the things you enjoy. Whichever way it goes after that there will be a plan. Plans are easier to get through than the unknown.

Enjoy the spectating and knowing the only thing that will suffer the next day is your voice :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

All the uk mdots I’ve done have been in a tent.

Euro - African races, they’ve been outside

Always been able to get to them on race morning too.

Just fluttered my eyelids at a marshal

@Mungo2 always got to look after #1 - you’ll get your day in the sun. Screw the race

Hopefully nothing serious and you’ll be right as rain soon :muscle:t2::v:t2:

@Mungo2 big vibes to the big man. Everything crossed for you bud. Let’s get you back healthy and then you can go do your nutty 6 hour turbo sessions again all winter long. Stay strong buddy.

I got a 5 min penalty at Dublin 70.3 before the race even started. My cab arrived as I was getting into a different cab as he was so late despite regular calls to dispatch assuring me he was 5 mins away.

I got to the start just in time to drop my bottles in T1. The guy on the gate said I had to go around to the other side. I did and they said I should be at the gate I just came from. They said it was too late, T1 is closed. There was a small wall, about 5ft ,so popped over it and dropped my bottles on the bike. The marshall started on about “You English…”, I pointed out I am not English. He was going to DQ me.

Mungo take care and get this sorted wishing you and family all the best and give those triathletes the biggest load of shit ever for being so stupid!

Outlaw used to have the Transition bags inside a big long Marquee. But never seen it at an Ironman event.

Roth used to have cloth bags too; so if it was wet you have to use a poly bag inside them, as they’d be sat outside all night on the floor (which is how they do it).

Mate, hope you’re ok, will be thinking about you. Stay strong

Really hope that it is nothing serious, however, you are fit, look after yourself, and are in the best possible position to deal with health issues.

This is a great forum, I don’t think I have ever made virtual friends until I joined Tritalk.

Sorry to hear all that @Mungo2 As others have said, look after yourself. See you at the Black Dog

Response has been fantastic I told “ us “ before most of my friends and family!

I feel I should thank everyone personally but I’d be scared of missing someone out.

I’m scared, but that’s ok in this situation I guess.

Blood test and CT scan tomorrow at 15:30.

I’ll be tracking on Saturday, like a good few others no doubt, you don’t need any advice, your there already you just need to claim your spot.

Gods speed to you.

Definitely puts tri in the appropriate context. Fingers crossed it’s nothing serious

The first Outlaw, that bag tent was horribly narrow and a bit of a cluster.

IM Wales has a massive marquee with separate closed off areas if you want a complete change (naked).
