Chap i was following now officially DNF after the swim. He was a full 20 mins slower in the second half. Was it a 2 lapper? Gutted for him. Pretty certain he wasn’t the type of guy who’d be flirting with cutoff normally.

@sidsnot was 4th through 127km but looks like someone has snooked in front at 152, hope he can keep it going

Phew, Sid has come through! But clearly had an issue, lost 20mins or so, but still in 5th!

I’m in South manchester just back from a Cheshire ride and the rain was and still is biblical here. Propper bouncing down with lots of flooded roads. Bolton motorway web cams showing a lot of spray so it must be wet there. Great in 2019 but really wouldn’t fancy that bike course in the wet. Read about possible issues, so hopefully all ok and going strong and no more issues for the rest of the day.

Ah, bugger. Hope I didn’t jinx him by saying he had a comfortable gap to 6th. Guessing in the conditions being talked about, punctures are probably more likely
