Pegasus and Milers are on the bench at the moment.
So 2, maybe 3 pairs?
My saucony have over 2000km on them and donāt seem very worn at all.
Really? How come!?
This was a while agoā¦I have version 10 in my head.
Just found them so so heavy.
I was probably only wearing one pair till they needed replacing, so imagine I also found the lack of speed in them frustrating. But mostly, the weight.
I have been using the Nike React Infinity Run Flyknit 3 for my plodders and picked up my last pair last month for £72.
Really rate them for easy miles.
If you donāt like them just send them back, easy.
Same here.
Iāve had Adrenalineās every year since 2008 and notice that since they changed to the guiderail in 18 or 19 not sure, they havenāt lasted as long. My current set are done so now Iām looking for a replacement and for the first time looking elsewhere for my long run shoe.
Would take recommendations, currently looking at the Saucony Guide or Tempo.
Iām in need of some new shoes
Have:
1 pair of Alphaflys, in good condition, but I like to save as Sunday best.
1 pair of vaporflys, use on treadmill almost dead, literally crumbling to bitsŲ going to get injured if I carry on using them as one is at least 1cm more worn at the heel, itās down to the foam and then some.
1 pair of something called Nike react milers which are solid but heavy, and have the disadvantage of being currently located in West Asia
1 pair of inov8 trail shoes which are falling to bits
1 pair of sauconies which is what I am actually running in
Itās complicated to manage
If cost was no object Iād just have lots of pairs of vaporfly but they are like Ā£115 per shoe and I have 2 legs.
Need to figure out a strategy
Anyone?
Work full time.
Buy Vaporfly.
Sorted
Dry road: Alphas
Wet road: Fading Vaporās, replace
Trail: Get some Kigers at half price
Milers are cosy, but best cold mornings I think not tropical humidity
I donāt suppose there are deals on legitimate shoes where you are? My vapor2s were Ā£135 delivered
Ā£170ish at Keller sports with membership and discount code.
Cheaper if youāve got tiny feet.
I have Keller sports membership but am struggling to find them for that fine price
Size 10 clod hoppers
Assume thatās your size too @mw22 ?
Hang around checking sportshoes as well
Ah little munchkin feet⦠12 here in some brands
The orange ones are in a 10.
Add in autumn22 code.
Is that a Keller sport code? I tried and it didnāt work.
spurred on to action , just ordered these
Autumn22 code didnāt work but a message came up suggesting if spent over Ā£79 it might
They get you one way or the other
Anyhows, thatās 2 everyday shoes for less than 1 vaporfly. Will report back
Iāve had mixed feelings about Pegasus, had 17ās and 18ās and the inner heel has worn quickly, but Iām probably not helping by wearing them slack so a lot of rubbing.
Ran in them a few times and no obvious problems but donāt feel that stable.
If you can get them for under Ā£70 though theyāre worth a punt.
Odd as the Pegasus T2ās are excellent and my current go to shoe for trails and hills.
Long term brooks adrenaline user but not had a recent version as I had some in the loft. Feel a lot more stable and liked them for long plodding on tarmac etc
My shoes strategy below:
Training:
Carbon X3 and(or) Saucony endorphin speeds
Race:
Alpha fly or Vaporfly depending
I also have meta speed sky + - using them for sessions as not getting the same out of them as alphyfly as a race shoe.
That sounds like a plan, thanks for the tip
I just bought a pair of X3s tooš
The X3s plus the Asics together cost less than a pair of vaporflys & so now have 2 shiny new pairs of road training shoes, will keep the old sauconies for off road
With the pair of vaporflys which is falling apart, I wish I had got them resoled while they were still in good shape. Itās too late now, the road contact layer has vanished in places and bits of foam cushion are breaking off. Apart from that, the upper is fine. Iāll be watching the alphas
There are some size 12 on sports shoes for £69
