Nike Zoom Fly/Vaporfly 4 and NEXT% - The Thread

How do you do this?

I haven’t ever done it, but someone I run with has. He sent them off to a shoe repair service & it cost about Ā£30. Think it might have been based in Europe

Speaking of Adidas, SportsPursuit have most of their running range in stock at 50% off currently.

I have been using my Alphafly Next% and Next% 2. I prefer the Alphafly Next%, personally I think that the Next% 2 is slower

I got the Next% half price last year, wish I have bought 2 pairs. The Next% 2 is heavier and certainly more stable, but is very loud, and lacks the spring of the Next%

Thanks for the tip, found a pair for £110 and gave them their maiden voyage this morning

Initial impressions are good, my legs are battered from Zwift yesterday so not really a fair day to test them out. But nothing to complain about, and the sole looks much thicker and more durable than the Nike carbon plate shoes I have had.

A little late to the Peg chat but this is a 36 with over 800kms on it, still looks pretty decent and has more life left in it (the other side is exactly the same)

I’ve got a pair of 37s in rotation too but I’d only pick them up with a decent discount from Nike!

Jesus. What surface are you running on, marshmallow? Pillows? …Water?

My run technique must be so graceful that I just seem to float

Thanks #1.

Hoping to pick some up around Black Friday.

Current pair of ā€˜plodders’ are certainly on their way out.

Hi
This thread is huge!
Really sorry if already discussed but has any had any experience with Nike Zoom fly 4"s?
For races mainly.

I have had all of the zoom fly shoes and the 4 were the least impressive as the felt dead compared to the other versions. Plenty of bounce in the heel but if you are a mid/forefoot runner then it was unresponsive.
The version 5 has the same zoomx foam as the next. I have a pair of 8.5 you could try if you wanted

I see.

I only have one pair of carbon shoes, I’m certainly faster in them, but there size 10.5?!

I went for a bike fit and found out I’m very nearly a size 10 shoe, I ran in size 9ā€s for decades?!?

I looked last night, I’ll have a look about to see what’s available

Thanks

A few years ago I noticed I seemed to have gone from a 9 to a 9.5.
Started doing some reading and there was a suggestion thatas middle age begins the connective tissues between bones (that’s probably the wrong terminology but you get the idea) begins to break down which leads to the foot spreading and going up in size.
I had just turned 40.

SNAP! I’ve been telling people my feet have grown recently!

When I got my first pair of Nike super shoes (~18 months ago, not long after I’d turned 40) I ended up having to go up half a size (thank you Nike 60 returns policy), and now find I’ve pretty much gone up half a size for all shoes.

Yup. My feet have grown.
But I’ve also gained height, too! Like a full 15mm :straight_ruler:

How?!

I think i’m shrinking thanks to my terrible back and posture! :man_facepalming:

I have NO IDEA!!!

I always used to be 186cm (rounded down and also 6ft 1in ā€œand a halfā€, but I never mentioned the half inch, 'cos what’s the point?)

I’m now a good 188cm, or a clear 6ft 2in!

I have no idea how, maybe all of the fat I’ve put on has padded out my foot and bonce?
