Off for a gentle post IM jog
So I āsavedā money by getting some of the blue ZFs . Think I need to stop reading this thread
Nice matching socks @funkster
So my thoughts.
I agree they donāt seem to have the same āpopā as the 4% initially.
However I felt that feeling used to fade into a run
The Next do cradle your foot more. I often feel as a forefoot striker a little unstable in the 4%. On the cobbles in Frankfurt I thought I might go over.
No such feeling in the Next.
The smaller drop felt better for me as well.
Will do a Parkrun and see how they compare
The Zoom Flys were nice to run in. I think I had the left shoe too tight; stopped to loosen it after about 10k. But by 20k I could feel a hot spot on my ball, and rubbing on my heel. By the end of my 30k run I had a small heel blister.
I want to say I donāt get on with themā¦but Iāve never run 30k in a new pair of shoes before so hardly surprising.
Iām getting sucked into the fever of this thread.
So, Iām buying legitimate free speed from sprint to marathon with the Nike Zoom Fly FlyKnitā¦?
Are they worn sockless?
Should I keep them under glass?
I donāt knowā¦yet!
Butā¦the 4% are fine sockless for up to 8km (my max event distance in them) and I should have kept them with my wand and potions. Using them for a few āshakedownā runs has made them a bit of a muggle.
Iāve own the 4% and the Next% and much much much prefer the 4%.
Iāve bought the ZF Flyknits to see if theyāre like the 4%, for use as a training shoes for super speedwork.
Iāve a pair of Zoom Fly SP (Nathan Bell-esque) for tempo/cruise stuff.
My Zoom Structure 22 cover all easy runs and long stuff. Which reminds me I need to visit Nike Outlet to grab another pair
I am 90% certain Iāll send the Next% backā¦just got to do another week of every single run in them to be sure to be sure.
This 30 day returns; no mileage / wear limitations?
apparently so ā¦
So buy them, do an IM, return
repeat following year?
@Poet how do you find the sizes across the range of trainers?
Are they pretty consistent?
Thinking about getting the Zoom Structure.
Yes. This.
@gingerbongo returned his 4%, after a few runs, as they werenāt right for him at Ā£210.
Iāll let you know how I get on (if I send them back)
Not really!
Iāve got UK11 / EUR 46 in everything.
Thoughts:
Zoom Structure = Bang on
Next% = Bang on
Vaporfly 4% = Normal socks are fine. Double skinned ones are a no no (Hilly)
Zoom Fly SP = Have to wear condom thin socks
From what @jorgan has said, Iām hopeful I can wear double skinned socks with the Zoom Fly Flyknits
In theory,
You could even return them every 30 Days and get a fresh pair so they never wear out!
However from experience, once people start abusing generous returns policies, companies start to tighten up severely. I would be very surprised if these terms are still in place next year.
The ones I am sending back have less than 0.5 miles on them and are as new, but I didnāt like the colourā¦as it cost Ā£40 extra
Thanks @Poet i will get the same size Structure as i got in the Zoom FlyKnit and see how i get on.
Try and find a good deal now
Youād fit right in down Hackney Wick with a pair of them on
I ran in them back in the day; none of this hipster shyte.
When they re-release these shoes, are they constructed exactly the same as the original?
Are you UK8 and have Ā£1600 to blow? Vaporfly Elitesā¦
Yeah; was only joking and I am not organised for thatā¦I would inevitably lose the box etc
However Nike can certainly afford this; the margins must be 95% on these shoes when sold direct from Nike
Itās a very clever sales tool that gives buyer confidence, but is hardly ever used (as a % of total sales)
On have been doing it for years!
