Exactly this @bespoke
They aren’t losing any money, there aren’t any poor execs going home with only a tin of beans to feed little Timmy and his 5 brothers and sisters!!

Never underestimate how much people CBA. It’s what the cashback promotion is built on.
Yeah, I can relate to CBA. My £97 ZFs aren’t going anywhere. Maybe if it was the off-season…
What do you mean by the cashback promotion?
…in addition to my new Zoom Fly Flyknits being delivered tomorrow, I’ve just ordered a new integrated dishwasher and more importantly a proper jet washer
Where do these hardlty used returned trainers end up?
Probably with employees or the feet of aspiring runners in Kenyan villages.
Just a general observation on cashback offers - which rely on a less than 100% take-up, otherwise they would just give you the money off up front.
Not a reference to any specific offer in the instance. Although I did read what Stenard was advocating and thought CBA! although as much to avoid the resulting spam as anything.
Spam?
Through what? Topcashback/quidco? Hardly ever receive an email from either, except to say cashback has tracked. I use them both all the time for pretty much all purchases. I’ve earned about £500 through quidco, and nearly £1000 via TCB.
Takes 5s extra (most of the time) once you’ve decided to make a purchase.
How much have you fucking spent to earn that
Clearly a lot, but I have been using both for probably something like 15 odd years. I’ve never once bought anything through those sites that I wasnt going to have bought anyway.
And on stuff like broadband switching, or stuff like that, you can earn in excess of £100 by using them. Just looked back and got £85 the last time I switched broadband. Zero extra cost over the advertised prices. It’s just the money Google would have earned from the retailer for you clicking the link in a google search.
If there are genuinely people here who don’t know about them, I’ll happily refer you! Most people I know use them both
Count me as uninformed; have no idea how all this works !
Click that link and sign up. Once you’ve made a transaction you’ll apparently get a £5 bonus (I would also get a referral bonus). Effectively, it’s exactly the same as the links hammerer has put up for tritalk. I’d still say use those to earn TT some money, but for everything else, there’s almost always a link on topcashback. All you have to do is click through and complete your purchase, and you’ll get the money google (or equivalent) would have got for clicking through their sponsored links on searches.
It really is free money.
Exactly what i do and have earned just short of £2000 via Quidco on stuff i was going to buy anyway. Great when switching broadband like Stenard mentions.
link below to get you and me a bonus if you sign up and make some purchases

And how does it work for the retailer or the intermediary? The retailer pays the cash back, the intermediary takes a small cut and everyone is a winner?
The retailer is basically indifferent. They pay their e-tailing referral fee that they pay to Google, Bing, tritalk, whoever.
Topcashback and quidco claim to pass on 100% of what they receive to members. You can pay for an annual premium account with both of them (you get better support features and stuff like that), but whether they do take a slice on the way through I’m not sure. If they do, I don’t really care. I’m getting money back that would otherwise be going to Google et al.
I don’t pay for a premium membership with either site.
Yep thats about how it works.
Quidco take £5 per year from you but only out of any cashback you have earned.
So you don’t pay them anything up front.
They have lots of bonus offers as well.
I tend to go through the website for all my online purchases.
That’s only if you pay for the premium membership. Back in the day, that was what they did with everyone, but if you just have a basic account now, you get 100% of cashback that tracks through. That said, premium does give you more bonus offers and exclusive cashback rates etc
@stenard I didn’t realise that you can now get a free Quidco as i have just stuck on the premium version from when i first signed up.
Has anyone had their bargain blue zoom flyknits yet?
Mine are due on Sunday
MIne are saying not until the 9th
