Nike Zoom Fly/Vaporfly 4 and NEXT% - The Thread

Bit random. Seems someone fell out of love with vaporflys (just the one?!) mid run :person_shrugging:

£99.50 worth of supershoe right there

Maybe the clock struck midnight while they were still out running?

His family say he walked out the door muttering about experimenting outside of Z2 and how ISM was a fool then a few minutes later…Kablooie!

Maybe the photo was taken at Outlaw 2014 and he literally melted. There’s a dark stain on the road 🕵🏻‍♂️

Sportspursuit have Alpha Fly 3 down to £199

Is that for both shoes?

Outlet had some size 13, 14 and 15 in for 30% off £175. So £122.50. You just need flippers.

I just recycled a pair in that condition. Savvy army.

I’m thinking of doing a performance test of my old VF2s, endurance or easy pace. Can only really compare them with my other old shoes,
Peg38 and Miler 2s also bought in ‘22.

Warmup with strides.
3x (2x1km +10s changing shoes) decreasing pace.

So…1st km @5:40/km, Peg. 2nd km VF. 3rd km @6:10/km, VF. 4th km Peg. 5th km @6:40/km Peg. 6th km VF.

Idea is that lowering the pace minimises hr drift affecting the result, and a higher hr in the Peg on average indicates worse performance.

So what do you reckon…?

I can’t see how having only 10s rest, while swapping shoes, would give comparable results? At the quicker paces surely you need a longer rest with aim to start the reps with the same HR?

Hmm, interesting. I was aiming to change as fast as possible to stop hr dropping. Your way could be better.

I took advantage of the stupid prices at Sportspursuit and bought a pair of the VF3 for £120 and some running kit as well. Interestingly they are coming from Girona rather than the UK depot, anyone else seen that before?

They are pretty good prices. Any perspective on the difference between the flyknit and non-flyknit version of the VF3?
At under £100 for one of the colourways, it’s feasible to replace my 1200km AF’s that I’m using.

EDIT - sod that, I just decided to look, and I still have a brand new pair of original 4% in a box, a brand new pair of original AF in a box, and strava tells me the original VF NEXT% that I did Boston marathon in only have 50k on them (if I can figure out where they are).:rofl:

Definitely DO NOT need to spend more on running shoes!

Second week in September!!!
Have they bought the stock from Nike, who will try to sell it first?

That’s madness for delivery.
Also, that website is trash!

£3.99 delivery :exploding_head: at least they will come good on their promise compared to Mike Ashley’s scam fest when they offered VaporFlys last year.
My dainty size 43 feet, mean I can also target the ‘women’s’ version and get them uber cheap as as you would with size 12 men’s on these sites. Picked up a number of pairs of On Cloudstratus 3s recently with over a £100 off each pair with this approach. As a mileage shoe they are great and at that price well worth it.

Have you never heard of them before?

Stuff on there is generally on a lengthier lead time. They are the TK Maxx of the online sports and outdoor kit world. You’re eight in that they generally don’t have most of the stuff in hand, and are selling what they’ve been told will be offloaded into them by the mainstream brands as end of season / discontinued items.

They do have some products in stock more regithough. And some brands are actually their own.

Shoes arrived yesterday within a week of ordering so way ahead of the anticipated delivery date on the website
