Nike Zoom Fly/Vaporfly 4 and NEXT% - The Thread

Mine should drop tomorrow!

10am tomorrow for me…just after I’ll have got back from a few pre-race efforts with the dog

Thanks for the headsup on the ZF’s, ordered a pair.

Can’t decide on the Next%

Jeff

Saying the 9th for mine as well…

First pair came yesterday, cheaper pair coming today.

Wore the Neon Demons in the wet today.
They dispel the water.

Do what they say on the tin in that respect.

Still hugely underwhelmed.

They’re not as fast as the bright blue ones

Irritatingly mine are being delivered in an hour but I’m down in Cornwall for a week. Have to say the 3 pairs of shoes I’ve bought from Nike this last week have all been dispatched very quickly and a day ahead of when they originally said.

My Next% were 3 days late when I’d paid for next(%) day shipping.

My Zoom Fly Flyknits are still not here, despite being quoted for 10am, they’ve now moved it forwards to midday :face_with_symbols_over_mouth:

I’ve fitted an oven and dishwasher in that time.
(I am also aghast that AO charge £90 to fit a dishwasher and John Lewis charge £100 for an electric double oven. Both charge £20 old item disposal fee and £3 packaging removal!!! I’ve “saved” £236 by spending two hours doing it myself, having already disposed of the old items at the local tip)

My Flyknits were originally going to be delivered on the 11th, now had an email saying they’ll be there tomorrow, getting them delivered to work and there’ll be no-one there.

Jeff

My Blue zoom flyknits have been delivered but I am 200 miles away in Durham so won’t get to see then until later.

First thoughts out of the box is that they felt heavy.
Noticeably heavier than the 4% and Next%

Quick check of the EUR46 on the scales

Next% 223g
4% 235g
Zoom Fly SP Fast 253g
Zoom Fly Flyknit 302g
Zoom Structure 21 320g

They’re closer to a training shoe than a racing one.
Have to see how I get on with them next week…

Parkrun in the Next% this morning

3 weeks ago in the last weekend of IM training in the 4% I did 18:57

Today a week out from IM and only having run once this week was an 18:58

Not the greatest comparison, but today felt comfortable (up until the last 500m) and the shoes felt springy.

I might try and do some more “scientific” testing maybe at the track with some Hokas, the flys, the 4% and the Nexts

What do we think? 800’s round a track. 8 sets with 1-4 each shoe, then repeat? Cadence the same and monitor HR?

Ah so a mixed bag with deliveries then. I’ve been pretty lucky then!

Did the same with a dish washer this week. Fitted it myself but paid John Lewis 20 quid to remove the old one. Saves me a trip to the tip

mine arrived today on time, they do feel heavy and narrower compared to the % shoes but for that price…

Is that two pairs of 4%???

Also, how do you find the lock laces on the Next%?
I’d assumed the tongue would be a blocker for this…

Lace locks and the standard laces don’t seems to stay in play with the NEXT% so ordered elastic laces to try next.

Narrower?! That’s not what I want to hear!

He’s fibbing. They are massively wider.
I’d say they even fit my hobbit feet :+1:t3:

The fit is really good

I ordered 8.5 in the flyknits Ie same as the NEXT but I get the feeling I should have sized up to a 9 like the 4%. Either way a comfy shoe and for the price I can kick about in them.
Poet yup 4%x2 as I used my son’s birthday code to get the discount on those as well as the Easter code.
