Did a half marathon on Sunday off very little run training
Furthest I’ve run since June is 8 miles.
Wore the Next% and “cruised” round in 1:28 and was able to push the pace later in the race after I stopped for a pee and wanted to catch the group I’d run with
Nike AlphaFly? should be in action on Saturday morning in the 1:59.59 attempt. £300 price point?
Info from believeintherun : Is this the Nike alphaFLY? We combed through a ton of technical writing for you and broke down Nike’s newest sole structure, seen briefly during Eliud Kipchoge’s training for the INEOS 1:59:59 challenge.
Short summary: lots of foam, four cushioning pods, three carbon/polymer plates, and a partridge in a pear tree.
So after getting the 4% quite a while ago and they felt fine walking around the house, I raced a 10k in them the last week and they felt a bit too tight, so glad I tested them out properly in a 20 miler yesterday. Feel like I may lose my big toe!
3 weeks until my marathon this year… so unsure whether to size up or just go for the Next%. If I do - any idea how they size compared to the 4%? I think I can get them for about the same price so it would probably be silly not to
I haven’t run in my next% yet, but having tried them on, they felt slightly bigger than the 4% (both same size). Nothing major tho. Mainly just the toe box seemed a bit more spacious.
I’m fairly sure @Poet commented early on about them being a bit bigger?
Yup, they feel bigger, probably due to the width and more generous toe box.
Hence my comment on if their toe hurts in the 4%, to stick with the same size in the Next%
Interesting. Could send my pink ones back to Nike and save quite a bit on these. But then I’d feel bad for having used up Poet’s discount code unnecessarily!
Really should run in the ones I have from Nike and check them out!
Not sure what to do with my slightly too small 4% now though - I could sell them and recoup some money back - Any thoughts on what a pair with 25 miles could get (and in very good condition - nothing wearing away like I have read on some reports) - is 100GBP too much?
Or I could save them for shorter events next year, maybe even cut a slight hole right where the big toe is in each shoe (Did I read a review somewhere where somebody does this?)
