Bit of tourism for me at Carlisle Park which is actually in Morpeth and not Carlisle! Followed by a quick dash to Newcastle airport for my flight, which has now been delayed

2.5 laps and a horrible little hill 3 times which is about 400m long  cooked myself on lap 1 trying to get a decent place as it was very narrow in places.

Was suffering towards the end but managed 21:46 which apparently is my third fastest 5k this year!

Think I’ve got 6 left in the NE region now.

Wankers !!! ( not you lot !?)

Ran worden today with a good much younger / faster hyrox fanatic ( he left me at 3 k but put me in a good / bad place )

Hamstring grumbling on the downhills and the last 300? Ms . Got overtook by 3 in the last 15 ms it 100% cost me my target time today ..!

Still a pb ( in recent times ) is a pb I guess.

Physio next week for sure

Marshalled at Kingston and had my first grumpy member of the public to deal with, as she had 400 runners coming at her. Decided to let me know how unhappy she was.
‘Is this event insured?’ ‘Yes’
‘People should know it’s happening.’ ‘It’s been happening every Saturday morning for the last 17 years.’
Oh well…

We went to Osterley parkrun (nearish Heathrow) to see some (cough Pirate triathlon) friends and had a great time. Went of a bit quick but soon enough held back a bit and ran 99% or the run completely on my own. It’s a great flat two lapper with a little twisty turny bit through a wooded area. 19:50 :+1:

Left home at 6:30am and got home at 2:15pm. Ridiculous. M25 traffic didn’t help at all…. but the post run coffee and natter was worth it.

Putting me to shame there. Osterley is my NENDY but the thought of it seems a massive chore!

I think Eastleigh would be my NENDY

Mine is only 22.8km away. I’m not much of a tourist at all.

This is a few miles from me and a park I went to a lot as a kid.

But I think we’ve got too many locally, they’re regularly begging for volunteers and the odd one gets cancelled. Doesn’t help that one needs a lot of volunteers despite being 2.5 laps of the park.

It’s also not the biggest park so probably a couple of laps but could be fast as there’s zero climbing at all.

Jogged around with Mrs FP today, 29.30 I think. LO stayed at home because we were waiting for an Amazon delivery (which is now coming tomorrow  )
