Parkrun

Hamstring still “ tight “

Asked by a mate who has put lots of weight on to pace him today

He wanted 29-30 mins

We got 28:30 ish obviously 8.5 mins slower than last week felt quite easy

Av hr 125 would have been lower if wasn’t charting

Learned a few things .. those at the back .. (he was 178 th out of 430 so not really at the back )

Are much happier than those at the front, they move aside for each other thank the Marshalls and smile all the way round..

Enjoyed it as much as last week the numbers we all go on about ( nobody cares! )

We did the Mamquam Spawning trail this morning in Squamish. Just over 30 mins for me . Not every day you get told to look out for bears and skunks ..

I don’t do many park runs - but they were so sweet at Squamish , and were excited to know it was my 25th one

Volunteering for me today, my 50th!

Looked like a bigger turnout as well due to one of the bigger ones in Middlesbrough being cancelled due to an event in the park.

Also saw something yesterday that said one of our local events originally ran their first 3 events on a Wednesday to avoid clashing as they’re barely 3k apart. Apparently one of only two that ran them on a midweek.

Ended up going to the local run again today, after going to bed with a migraine :face_with_symbols_on_mouth:

Felt terrible in the short warmup which is sometimes a good sign :man_shrugging:t2:

Went off fairly steady to avoid the traffic at the start and settled into a decent but manageable pace. Started catching a few of the quick starters.

Started increasing the pace to get away from a few on the way back and then noticed a sub 22 was likely so pushed on. Final time was 21:49 on my watch. Was quicker last month by about 10 seconds but this was more comfortable. And it’s a little bit softer after the recent rain.
