Keswick parkrun.
What a course
100% tarmac out and back.

2.5km ā€œuphillā€ turn round, come back.

Weather is grim and I’d forgot my inhalers.
Slow 22mins. Enjoyed it.

Windy AF at Bushy today, trotted round just over 20 minutes.

Wanted to take the nipper in the new (to us) running buggy but he was having none of it

More tourism for me today, local course but entirely trail with a twat of a hill you do twice

Small field though, finished in about 22:25 which still got me 4th :joy:

Probably the toughest parkrun I’ve done.

We’re at Butlins in Bognor and I’d really been looking forward to parkrun, the course seemed to be tarmac and flat, but a few tight / dead turns. Even packed the Vaporfly and was preparing to give it full beans.

Youngest had other ideas, just before bed last night he exploded on the loo and then threw up. I spent the night with him, he was sick once more in bed and it felt like I had an hours sleep.

Didn’t really feel it’d be on to leave everyone for an hour or so, especially as the wife doesn’t cope particularly well with sick.

Thankfully he seems ok this morning, touch wood.

Super windy and opposite to any sort of good time on the course - full headwind on the long false uphill drag, tailwind descent, cross head on the short hill. So I wasn’t gonna be fast, but after an easy long 18 last week, I was gonna go out hard as training for a good conditions week!

Did that, by the time I hit the hill (in about 18:40 pace) my chest was super tight and I felt ropey despite feeling okay for the first 2km and couldn’t stay with the two I’d just sheltered for all the headwind, slow second lap and a 19:4odd finish. 18:37 for the faster of the two I was with at the hill, he’s normally about 10seconds ahead of me.

Saddo stat I’ve just found out is that my local parkrun, Albert (Middlesbrough) was one of the original ones that started off being called time trial before the rebranding. I knew it was one of the oldest.

Looks like there’s 10 of them, 3 in London.

Other half is off to Edinburgh for the weekend, had to drive her to Heathrow and missed Parkrun for the first time since November :upside_down_face: - had a nice little streak going on!

Parkrun DNF for me this morning, that’s a new low :flushed:.

Felt really off my game for the last 48hrs, listless both physically & mentally. Was off work yesterday but my get up & go had gone so there was no bike ride :worried:. Had hoped that a wee blast would snap me out of it but had to step off halfway through :man_facepalming:.

Hoping I’m just under recovered from the VK last Sunday & brick session on Wednesday.

More tourism for me today and the letter J

Small parkrun and flyknit’s weren’t the best idea when 50% was on grass

Anyway, managed to lead from start to finish and finished just under 21 minutes.

Nobody particularly close behind after 1K so didn’t hammer it.

Also bloody freezing

Coughed and wheezed my way round this morning.
Felt like crap, but longest run since Cotswolds last year :exploding_head:
Managed 8.8km.

Now have a bit of the :poop::running_man:t5::toilet:
Fucking great.

Headed to my home parkrun today at Albert Park, light wind but chilly.

Was a bit nervous when the first K was 3:46 :grimacing: but kept going hoping I might finally get back in the 19’s, I clocked 19:29 so well pleased with that, especially after a chewy week at work.

Painful though :joy: fairly sure it’s down to the Zwift races as I’ve done hardly any running at that pace!

18:05 for me, a bit depressing, as I put on new shoes and tried to run fast, didn’t break 18.

Made it to parkrun. With the jog there and back came to just under 14km which is my longest run in a very long time.

Went medium fast today and felt ok but had to stop and retie lace 4 sodding times :face_with_symbols_over_mouth:

23 mins ish

Cold and now have windburn on my tummy despite 2 layers

At least the parkrun was ove 80% Age Grading - I thought it was 17:59, but maybe that was the new age gradings not the ones parkrun use.
