Parkrun

I’ve turned up when there’s 15 minute people and the majority are fine, they like to compete amongst themselves but accept they’ll be going past slower people on lapped courses.

As mentioned, can do the barcode on plastic cards, phone or Garmin if you have a newer one.

Also, you were faster than me today!

After sacking the triathlon I ended up doing one of the smallest runs in the country, usually only get about 25. All trail with a few little drags, kept it steady and finished in 24:55. Another pleasing run, leg didn’t seem aggravated by the conditions, surface or hills but didn’t push the descents like I would have.

You might want to remove that picture with GF’s phone number on it.

They used to insist upon a physical bar code, but within the last couple of years finally got with the times and allow them from phones, watches, etc. too.

Decided to pretty much go all out today, having done bugger all running in the last 6 weeks (other than parkruns). Leaving the house at around 8:57 meant it was a brisk jog to the start and that felt atrocious, which didn’t fill me with confidence. Had hoped for sub-19, but realised within the first km that wasn’t on, but carried on pushing for 19:29.

Annoyingly my wife had booked another family newborn photoshoot so I had to dash off at the end, missing out on some cakes from club mates celebrating milestones.

Looks like it was a decent battle for 1st finisher, the winner with 15:50 taking it by 2s.

House phone
I never answer it these days Jeff …

Cheers but my days of worrying if people can find out we’re I live ( not that I ever did) will come to an end in a months time, I think, on any other site I’d take it down still.

Tri talk has always been a friendly space

Glad the leg is healing up.

Note that I passed @BadAsh’s house at 8:59 and did an easy jog to the start, and was still there for the full briefing, so the brisk jog woud’ve been less than a minute - maybe a warm up next time! I thought I did 19:29… but as I was ahead of BadAsh I guess not… I felt okay for the first bit, weather was horrible, but when I got to the hill, I just never got going again.

Life hit rock bottom for me today as I traveled to Sunderland for a parkrun :joy:

Just got there in time and got dragged along a bit at the start before easing off. A few little digs in the last K which I pushed a bit harder and went past a few.

About 23:10 I think, leg seems ok but still slightly achy but pleased with the slight increase in pace.

No idea what my HR was doing, more likely the strap or interference as I definitely would have known if it was beating that fast!

Also got to see a heron trying to catch its breakfast :grinning:

Horrible Park Run for me this morning, 21m07 which is a personal worst out of 36 runs apart from the ones I jogged with Mrs.

Felt grim from the off, the grass was wet and claggy, the ground was uneven, everything just felt like 25% more effort than it ought.

must be getting old

Actually I have had a niggly knee for a few weeks so have dialled back running to about zero, this is probs the main reason.

In other news, I apparently got beaten by my Mum (age graded). A bad day all round

But you came fourth overall!

Go Mother B :+1:

Edit, it’s not your birthday is it

it wasn’t actually mother B, it was Dad and for some reason he picked up a bar code which he must have printed out for her :man_shrugging:

birthday in a few weeks. Still “mid 40s”

Doing a sprint tri tomorrow, not sandbagging but haven’t been on the tri bars for a year either. At least the swim should be Ok. Poor old crock.

First time at Parkrun since the start of June.

Left my house late and plodded my way through - generally felt awful the whole way round with last nights pizza sloshing in my stomach. No idea on actual time but I scrapped 5 minute pace per km for the run.

I’m in Wales next week. What’s your local @Doonhamer?

Well, Wales is a big country  but if your in my neck of the woods my local is…

Let me know if you can make it, I’ll definitely look you up, but I’m all in for the Cilcain Mountain Race on the Monday.

5k before Parkrun, then an easy Parkrun, was surprised that my pace was pretty decent (22:22) despite effort feeling pretty easy. I think I am recovering from TCR

More tourism for me today and I know they’ve stopped things like Nelson numbers but this was event 444! Mostly went as we’re heading to High Force.

Pushed a bit more and there was a steep little climb to do 3 times!

Official time is 21:46 so fairly pleased with that, felt like there was more to come.

Just need to see how the leg feels later.
