Oohh Iā€™m proper nervous. Iā€™ve not run hard in ages!

@JibberJim to illustrate my earlier point. My HR is 102 sat in the car driving over as Iā€™m a bit jittery! :joy:

Here we goā€¦

From the palm tree there itā€™s an east wind, absolutely balls out start then!

Alrighty. Sweepstakes time. How fast will @gingerbongo go? A particularly expert trail of sand has been laid in the posts above . Number from a hat ā€¦ Iā€™ll say 17min 12 secs

What the football world cup, the world Tri champs from Abu Dhabi, and now this? Itā€™s like Super Saturday all over again

Not 100% sure about the banner headline though

Start finish is top left, just off camera, maybe add 2 seconds to the times you get from the on screen graphics. Watch out for how we deals with going around the tricky bin near the zebra crossing, then wait 15 minutes until he comes in view again and disappears down to the right before coming back.

Wow that was actually really good seeing the start. Was that GB at the front in vest and shorts?

That was my guess, but I canā€™t be certain.

He will go sub 18, for sure.

Just look out for a runner that appears to be wearing two huge foam hands.

I reckon that was GB on the webcam just coming back in 3rd or possibly 4th. Only about 20-30s off the leader

Who knew that watching park run on a static webcam could be so diverting. There have been dogs on the beach, bad drivers, cyclists on the zebra crossing, all sorts

Yeah, I had him right around 17min in 3rd place, lost a bit to 2nd in that last turnaround!

He was back in 14, sorry for my bad prediction @gingerbongo

Oh, but why didnā€™t you come and wave at us all fans?

At least there appears to be plenty of sand available nearby to replenish the supplies which must surely be running a little bit low by now :smile:

As what time did he do?
Or have I missed it ?!

:joy: Very funny commentary above! :clap:t4: Black shorts and vest, light blue shoes. :+1:t3:

Was very windy. And very sandy on the pavements. The turn around at Orcombe Point was lethal.

Not sure of official time. Something around 17.35. Looking at the splits I think I was a bit soft on km 2 when the pace eased.

No speed endurance at all, as feared. So once we got to 3.5km I really struggled. Matey boy in 2nd just started to turn the screw a bit and I just couldnā€™t respond. So it was more a case of damage limitation for that last mile.

Despite avoiding hard stuff a lot over the past few years. I forget that when I do get around to actually doing it, that I flippin loves it! :joy:

Very nice GB I jogged 5km to Parkrun, then ran a too fast 23.37

Walked to the coffee shop waiting for a pick up

Surprised you could run at all with all that sand weighing you down :joy: I reckon the Thursday nights must have helped!

Great time, and FP.

I was timekeeping this morning, thatā€™s stressful even for a 100 finisher event. Typically conditions were about 30 seconds quicker than last week
