Parkrun

Good job. There’s a few parents that drag their kids around. One was a stride in front all the way around and they finished 3rd

Ooh, uphill first half, downhill back, that’s got to be good for motivation and the poor pacing of kids!

They only run it on the first weekend of every month!

Oh really? Wonder why. It’s every week for ours.

Latchmere is not that much further for you surely? I’m assuming you’re not actually making him run to the start?

I’ve never fully understood why Bushy was only once a month, considering Surbiton was often full enough that they had to add Latchmere.

Yes Latchmere is a good shout. See if he’s keen next week - 3 lapper though. That should test him!

My old primary school. Dad went there too. Many hours playing footie on that rec. :+1:

Kennington Park has had a weekly junior ParkRun since the beginning of the year, but it’s never had a senior ParkRun.

The park is only about 1km round, so 2 laps for the juniors is fine, but 5 laps for the seniors wouldn’t really work

Lovely photo and great running. Well done.

5 second pb from the lad today

He did well to brave the cold. Car had it at minus 3 but the park we ran round was just covered in fog

Ran with LO today. Absolutely boggy and muddy and somehow she pulled off a 24.25 ( unofficial)

PB for that course and only 3 secs off her outright PB at Burnham. So proud :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

Yeah I had some fun at Queen Elizabeth Country Park. Had one too many shandies last night and started too far back but had some fun running through to second. Absolutely caked in mud and clay/chalk.

Anyone goi g for one tomorrow?

I’m hoping to do one, probably just a jog though.

No Parkrun for me this morning as the person with the key had gone home for Christmas already. So 5k around the seafront like the old days before gps and Strava.

I went to mine in full xmas get up (always seems like a good idea till you have to run home in it).
Chap who runs similar pace also in Xmas attire.

Start gets very busy, lose a couple of rows before the start and as we get off find I’m massively boxed in.
500m in, still struggling to get thru the hoardes and Santa 1 has a good 15+ secs on me.

Thru halfway, passed all those clogging up the racing line but still gapped for fancy dress glory.
4km down and just start to make inroads.
Catch with 500 to go , exchange pleasantries and distance him enough for a good finisher photo (had there been a photographer of course :grimacing:).

Another solid sub 20. Nicely paced and a world away from 12 months ago when I could barely manage 10 mins of treadmill plodding.

Oh there’s photos :relaxed:

Nice work folks.

Parkrun gave LO a 24.20, so that’s an outright PB!

We are going tomorrow. LO and Mrs FP running and I’m the Tail Walker vollie.

I was second in “fancy dress glory” - but we were both just in santa hats, nothing more, and he’s a 16 minute guy I think, and I was taking it easy still not really over the lurgy that has taken out the house.

can’t believe you bought red cheating nike’s just for the costume.

Looks like the ladies record has been lowered again to 15:31 at Poole parkrun by Melissa Courtney-Bryant
