you monster @leahnp
My race season is so limited with duathlon so cracking on towards March to June and then like a dud sparkler I am done.
Making me feel extra tired
That was the pace of my 100m pickups yesterday.
On
My mate was a pacer again ( 21 mins)
He put in a 6:03 middle mile ā¦! lol
Lovely lovely guy ⦠not the best pacer
Someone in ormskirk ā had a word ā at the end
After all itās not a race !
Late decision to pace at 23 minutes today as I didnāt think I was going to be there. Didnāt do too bad at 22:44 but got a bit carried away in the last K and gained 10 seconds! There was only 2 people following me and both seemed ok. Small turnout and still finished 8th.
Was also 1 second off one the last remaining stopwatch challenge times!
Nice morning for a run though even if it was a bit sloppy in places.
With the sun shining I thought Iād parkrun rather than sit in the garage on a bike. Warrington is far too big and busy these days. Traffic getting in was a mess so parked down the road. Got absolutely bogged down at the start. Just annoying.
Nice to be out but I realise why Iāve avoided Warrington parkrun over the last few months.
Jogged around on my own today. LO has had a bit of a cough.
I wanted to see how much my toe was hurting, it seemed manageable but not overly happy. Iāll make a call on tomorrowās race later.
This was probably the muddiest/slipperiest time Iāve ran Winchester. I was surprised it was on.
Stayed upright for a steady 28.45
Popped down to Brighton last night to pick up a couple of the kids whoāve been with my parents since Tuesday for half term. Stayed over night and did parkrun this morning. Decided to try a different one as they live 500m from Preston Park so I almost always go there. Was just a 3km jog along to Hove Park. A nice undulating 3 laps round the park all on tarmac.
Found it quite amusing their pacers have 2 foot poles with a card on the top which they hold up at the start⦠and then proceed run round with. At our local they have bibs. Wasnāt so amusing that the 25 min and 27 min pacers started right up and the front, so almost no logic to starting in ability order was on display.
Found myself on for a sub-20 after 2km, but wasnāt after a hard effort and backed off slightly.
Enjoyed a coffee and brownie from a van (there were 2 vans and a permanent cafe to choose from), before jogging back.
Actually had to run right past Preston Park both ways to get there and back.
Thatās the 3rd Brighton (& Hove) based one Iāve done now having tried the Hove Prom one for a PB attempt when I was on form last year (was about 3 seconds off).
Will hopefully attempt Worthing when/if I get the form back as itās the closest/quickest one with just a 1 or 2 turn arounds (Hove has 4).
I heard this mornings 30 mins pacer run past his mate at the start asking āwhat time are you planning today mate? Just looking for someone to help me get the pacing rightā
Iād kind of understand that for something random like 27 mins. But 30 mins!!! Mental.
Iām at Mumās this weekend but Mrs FP and LO stayed home as LO has a party to attend all day.
Rocked up at Burnham and it was pretty cold but lovely and clear. Havenāt run since since Sunday but turned in a 24.13 to come 5/27 in my AG.
Iāll take that after being sick this week.
Brilliant going FP, well done
Marshalling duties today as Iām sort of racing tomorrow, but as it happens there was probably too many of us.
Fed the birds though and got some fresh air so worth going.
First parkrun this year. Left my house at 8:55 and itās just under 3km to the startā¦
One section was absolutely flooded. I could see all the walkers taking a massive diversion and cutting a big bit of course out. I had my daughter in the buggy, we went full send into it - at one point there was a little wave spraying straight onto her!
I think I ended up with about a 35 minute time but ran it around 4:30 ish pace - itās quite tricky with the buggy, the front tends to slip off the road and bob around a lot. I think my boys may well be having tennis lessons at 9:30 so daddy and daughter park runs might be the norm for a while.
Thanks Anna
bloody hell!
Which bit was that Adam?
Just before 2km and the right hand turn.
I think the pond that has overflowed is called āThe Leg of Muttonā - might be completely wrong with that though.
Oh yes, I know where you mean. Thatās bonkers!
looking at that, just decided weāre not coming home after all
