Every 2 for me for many years. But what’s swimming again?
I used to be every 3. I didn’t like every two as I think my breathing stroke is inefficient and 50% of strokes breathing hurt pace.
I now go 3-2-3-2 and really like it. Good rhythm, still swim straight, more oxygen.
It sounds complex but in reality it’s breathe twice left, breathe twice right.
I need to try that TRO
Might give that a go
That’s crazy fast.
Crushing more grapes than even you can
I think she’s got it sorted. I hope she gets another chance to beat a healthy Ryf.
She’s developing into a fantastic athlete, people forget how young she is. I hope Ryf is properly fit in October as it could be an epic race with 3 or 4 women capable of winning
I was thinking - how many AG males have gone under 4hrs for a 70.3?
That’s the barometer.
If you don’t get beat by an AG male as an FPRO, you have BOSSED IT
Its got the making of a Scott vs Allen era over the next few years… with Ryf just edging her out until LCB works out how to race Kona, and then a hatful of world titles coming her way. Be fab to see a female Iron War!
Race Directors need to sort out the starting gap between M Pro and F Pro.
Today at Elsinore it was only 3 mins and LCB was quite quickly among some of the men on the bike. 3 mins is not fair racing.
Not her fault and no one is going to complain about a moto at the front either.
When you have ex swimmers amongst adult swimming pro men you need 10mins over a half minimum. Add that LCB is also a beast on the bike they need half hour to be sure of no “outside influence”
Define fair - any woman could theoretically swim as fast as LCB.
Seperate events is the only true unbiased racing, but that has it’s own downsides so there has to be an imperfect balance.
But it’s unfair because normally investing in the swim would be less efficient as you’d be solo in the wind for the whole (until the AG’s came through) bike, remove that solo then the event is a different event. Swim DRAFT Run, is a different event to Swim Bike Run. But it sounds mostly like event director having the womens race as an after thought where it’s more important to limit road closure time / marshall time etc. rather than have a fair swim bike run.
Normally the women start 5 mins before the men so that’s (albeit strictly) untrue.
I understand the sentiment, as per the rest of my post.
A 3 min gap is too little. Maybe ask some other pro women what they think.
I thought they normally started after? So they’d have to swim significantly faster?
Ha ha, yes sorry! Beer etc.
I have similar problems with yesterday and tomorrow. “Tomorrow” just means the next time in the future something will happen, to me. Even if that’s three days away.
Putting meetings back or bringing them forward is a constant confusion for me.
You could argue this part undermines your argument. A strong female swimmer could be disadvantaged due to strong AGers providing an earlier tow to those further back.
I don’t disagree it’s fundamentally better to just have an entirely separate race, and a bigger gap probably is logical, especially when a race director has LCB on the FPRO start list.
