I wish there was a home setup to test the efficiency of the drivetrain. As someone who built his bikes Ive always been suspicious of my drivetrains.

I missed out on a Kona at Wales by 4 minutes. Sure I too needed to learn how to swim better but it’s a boat load easier to just have ridden a faster bike :grinning:

I actually sold my second Tri Rig Omega after I moved to the SC7. It’s the exchange rate and shipping/taxes that makes them so much these days. I bought my Gen 1s in late 2013, and they weren’t too bad; about Ā£300 all-in for a pair imported.

Jesus :exploding_head:
I’m just scouring eBay and the other UKTT forum.
Someone in my club has a 50cm Trek SC frame set for sale with a pair on for £600.
Seems cheekyAF to buy it and strip it, then resell it :see_no_evil:

I may have over estimated; I seem to remember at the time, they were about £100 each, plus shipping/taxes.

Obviously Nick Salazar was a dick when I asked them to confirm that they’d received my order as I didn’t have a confirmation. His response ā€œSTOP SENDING US EMAILS!ā€ He was an irascible tw*t, who made DE look okay. Awful customer service skills.

They still get snapped up on the TT forums at around £150, so if you think you could sell the bare frame for £400+ it would probably be worth it. Sell the other brake and you have one left over for under £50.

There is the new version out now that got released a couple of months ago, but that’s >Ā£200 new. And the X is still considered a good brake. I actually have the original original on my bike (came with the frame second hand)

That looks like Redcar tri? (draft legal one I hope as no-one is on a TT bike).

I hope it’s on this year, it was good fun.

Yeah it is, I thought you might recognise it. Sea swim to start is great and not too many draft legal Tris. I’m in for 2021 assuming it goes ahead, maybe see you there!

Need to check when it is but I’m thinking of it, the swim had a bit of assistance as well I think?

In 2019 we were swimming out through 2m high waves. Even 50m out the waves were strong. Fun coming back in though! I had to switch from crawl to breastroke on the way out just to catch a breath!

Can we go on a tWitchHunt for DE?

ā€œi had a lot of back and forth on this with both CUBE and with lucy’s teamā€

When asked about the basebar;

ā€œThe Profile Design cockpit might be on the bikes Charles-Barclay rides, or not…I think the front end on that bike is fine, as spec’d. but she might want to ride speedbar or carbonwasp. if i was her i’d be looking hard at something like that before i locked myself into a standard aerobar. ā€œ

And then this happened;

Lucy just released a 20 min video of her visit to Cube.
They are developing a custom made cockpit for her (they blurred the image on the video) so she is not likely to get an other brand for the cockpit!

So, as we all know, DE knows :poop:

That thread decended into a debate on the relative femininity of Ryf and LCB with one comment,

*Criticism of a professional women’s athlete on her amount of femininity and her personality. Pretty gutless, coming from a vegan. *

As expected. Canyon did bespoke proprietary bars for Frodeno iirc, probably Lange too. Why he thinks they would stick someone else’s kit on their ikes when they already have a line into a 3D printing or moudling facility…

ā€œSo after giving you ten thousand quid to go faster, we then need to pay some local craftsman another two thousand to replace the bars, could you not just sell it to us cheaper, or make some bars which actually work for us?ā€

Haha Jim, that’s a bit unfair; you know they can’t do bespoke moulded bars for all their retail customers!

Interesting comments on ST about Kuota. I was racing a Kuota Karma in 2004, as well as an alloy Pinarello. I quite liked the Kuota but the back end was a bit twitchy for how I liked to descend, apart from that it was a great bike.

I’ve poked it but not much of a bite yet.

The thread that is, not the athlete.

Is that you calling him out on the Dolomites not being in North Eastern Germany?

Joex - TinPot

The Dolomites thing made me chuckle.

Looks like Jorgan is weighing in now.

He’ll have us all sacked, because his reach is THAT FAR, which was the BS he was pedalling years ago over on Transitions. :rofl:
