It’s like the closing stages of Paris Roubaix.
Did you watch the Netflix series? Jasper disaster was his name. Very high maintenance.
I think the Green Jersey group have thrown it. Less than 10km to go, and only what 9 or 10 chasing.
I reckon Mohoric from the front 3?
If Asgreen does it again, when he’s not my Captain
Phillipsen is a consumate nob it would seem.
OMG, photo finish.
Solid league day for me again. Either 1st or 2nd and 5th.
2 great days but still no elusive stage win with a 2nd today. Damn you @Jorgan
I’m not as greedy as Ben though!
First time Ive seen this today!
Great interview, what a wonderful chap.
Good day to back Gall.
AG2R are in a funny position.
Small budget team. You’d expect any grand tour rider with Top 10 GC potential to be the absolute leader.
Hopefully they manage O’Connor / Gall better than FDJ with Gaudu and Pinot.
Would be a dream break if Campanearts, Asgreen, Cavagna, Kung, Cort & 2-3 others went about 20km out.
Multi-discipline cycling world championships are under way in Glasgow. The road races are this weekend and the track racing is on now.
GB men are out of the team pursuit after Charlie Tanfield crashed while they were already down to 3 men. The crash looked a bit odd because it happened while he was already slightly off the back and nowhere near anyone else. Maybe a puncture or mechanical?
He was coming out of the bend and drifted down onto the Cote d’Azur (blue band at bottom of track) which is less banked and more slippery which caused his front wheel to wash out
UCI world championships in Glasgow for ten days
Glasgow residents not happy - 4 days roads shut & the council have spent millions resurfacing a few roads in the city centre and west end. Wtf didn’t they do that anyway - the holes here are precipitous. The cobbles from the early 20th c were simply paved over so often there are sections wholly exposed - it’s interesting at least
On the upside - I was in a gallery meeting this afternoon in Partick, and saw 3 Belgians in their kit just drift past. Thought that was pretty cool
Some of the comments on Facebook are disgusting. Apparently volunteers have been getting abuse and a couple have been assaulted.
I’m volunteering next weekend, better take a chib with me.
Biggest sporting event Scotland has ever hosted, we should be proud.
Yeah it’s cool isn’t it.
A lot of pissed off folk though! I’ve been reading comments on FB too. People I know! The buses not running, road closures etc
One of the problems I think is it’s been online but no real info other than that. So it’s taken the average non interested joe by surprise. 10 days of events and road closures
The LEZ has really fucked us all off. Think it’s cumulative rage maybe
Think mens road race is tomorrow- starts out in Loch Lomond and they head and do umpteen laps of city. Will certainly get out and watch even if I’m running - make for an interesting diversion
It’s exciting with all the helicopters flying about. Know some things are kicking off - and not just football supporters lol
I remember getting quite a lot of grief from the locals in west London when volunteering at the test event for the Olympic road race.
People were complaining that no one had told them that the roads were going to be closed, but there’d been signs up notifying of the closures for weeks and the organisers had leafleted all of the houses near the route.
Either they hadn’t bothered reading the Diane leaflets or they just assumed that they’d still be able to drive their cars on the closed roads
