I think it boils down to just cynical anti cycling people and I’m too cool for school types. Good support out today. GF bumped into a po faced academic she knows who was moaning about not being able to cross the roads etc… 
It’s nice pottering about the course watching the climbs, the descents etc
It’s really nice just having no traffic. Much more peaceful

Saw loads of Dutch on the time trail bikes riding the course.
It’s so cool how the city is shut down. I’m thoroughly enjoying it. That was a nice afternoon. Everyone entered the spirit of it - cheering on the deliveroo riders after the race had finished lol
I missed the commonwealth games in 2014 - really looking forward to seeing the elite mens tomorrow.
Very wet tonight though - could be messy

That’s a nasty bumpy stretch. The road surface is like cycling on muesli.
Not far from a beautiful descent down to Fintry - narrow B road then the climb up on the crow road. Then it’s only 10 miles into town or thereabouts
the road surface from their direction going up the crow road is an absolute minefield - so fingers crossed it’s all been resurfaced! Hurrah!!

48/49 mph on that descent 
Oh they’ve turned left in Lennoxtown - coming in to the city a funny way
Right - off to go and have a look. Prob find a perch on Montrose st - the climb on the circuit
